My family and I are not vegans or vegetarians but we do want to cut back on red meat and eat healthier when we can. When I had the chance to check out some Nasoya Fresh Asian dumplings made with tofu and assorted vegetables. The dumplings are available in two flavors – Tofu Vegetable and Thai Basil Vegetable. Nasoya’s Vegan Dumplings are USDA Certified Organic and also contain 6-7 grams of plant-protein per serving. I was so excited, there were so many ideas going through my mind would we have the dumplings pan seared with a side of veggies? Hmm? I wanted to kick up our meal a notch and since it was Tuesday, I thought of tacos, well, of course, it is Taco Tuesday!
Nasoya’s Vegan Dumpling Tacos:
Ingredients:
Nasoya's Organic Vegan Tofu Vegetable Dumplings
Tortillas (street taco size)
Vegan cheese
taco seasoning
salsa
jalapenos
one small red onion
Directions:
Follow instructions on the package to pan sear dumplings, after 1-2 minutes when the dumplings start to brown sprinkle with taco seasoning. Then cut dumplings into fourths, and place on street taco sized tortilla. Top with salsa, chopped onion, chopped jalapenos, and vegan cheese. Then squeeze a slice of lime over your delicious taco and enjoy!
This super easy recipe was a huge hit with my family, it took mere minutes and we pretty much had everything we needed on had at home. The tacos were fresh and delicious. The Organic Vegan Tofu Vegetable Dumplings had a great flavor, and that kick of taco seasoning gave the dumplings that little spice that made a great Mexican/Asian fusion dish. I filled each street taco with 1 and a half dumplings. This was plenty!
You could have even just used one dumpling, if you wanted. The tacos were super flavorful, just with the dumplings and spice or if you wanted to go with the works, vegan cheese, onions salsa jalapenos like my family did it really had that wow flavor factor. My family could not wait to have seconds! I will surely be having this fusion taco night again, perhaps next time we could have bean sprouts, or cilantro or fresh cucumbers there are so many delicious possibilities.
There are so many reasons and ways to eat plant-based, be it health, weight loss, fiber intake and many more… Even if you are not looking into eating a plant based diet full time, it is always good to throw in some healthy meals. Would you like to try tacos like these? I would love to hear if your family loved these tacos as much as my family did?
