A few years back (2014/15) Star Wars the Clone Wars ended after 5+ seasons (5 seasons on television and the last 13 episodes on Netflix) and 129 episodes. I was bummed. This was a series I watched from jump, and became invested (again) in characters from the Star Wars Universe and what happened between the Clone Wars (episode 2) and Revenge of the Sith (episode 3). This was a great gap filling show, well written, well acted, and the animation was superb. We were all sad to see it go. Our sadness didn’t last too long though, a new animated series would be arriving to take up the mantle of animated Star Wars shows. We were introduced to Star Wars Rebels.
Unlike Clone Wars, Rebels was a show with a primary cast of all new characters. Hmmmm… New characters? Clone Wars had a host of familiar faces (Obi Wan, Anakin, Yoda, Mace Windu, etc.) and introduced us to a several new characters we would come to love (Ahsoka, a whole host of Clone Troopers: Rex, Cody, Wolff, Fives, Echo etc.) they were a big a part of the Star Wars Universe now as was Luke, Han, Leia, and Vader were prior. Losing Clone Wars was a blow to all of us fans, and getting a new show with all new characters was a scary situation….fast forward 3 seasons and now I’m at the point where I was with Clone Wars, the characters in Rebels are now a part of Star Wars canon and characters I’ve grown attached to. Before I fet too ahead of myself telling you how great a show this is, I wanted to share some fun activities with you all simply click on the photo below and print them out and have a blast...

Rebels follows a band of Rebels: Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) a Jedi who never finished his training due to Order 66 and co-leader of the Phoenix Squad, Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray) a force sensitive teenager who lost his parents thanks to the Empire and is now Kanan’s padawan, Hera Syndulla (Vanessa Marshall) a crack Twi’lek pilot and co-leader of the Phoenix Squad, Zeb Orellios (Steve Blum) a hard scrabbled Lasat warrior with a heart of gold, Sabine Wren (Tiya Sircar) a colorful Madalorian warrior who went against her family and joined the Rebel alliance, and their C1 series astromech droid C1-10P or Chopper the resident trouble maker and smart mouth.
Rebels follows the Phoenix Squad throughout the galaxy and see’s them help the Rebel alliance grow in numbers and strength. Rebels takes place between Rogue One and A New Hope, it fills in a lot of gaps between what you saw on the big screen and what you didn’t get to see. This tuesday season 3 (the penultimate season) of Rebels is coming out on DVD and Blu Ray. Season 3 was a roller coaster ride of a season! With Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) breathing down their backs and seemingly being one step ahead of the Phoenix squad we see our heroes go through a lot this season.
We see members leave to face their own trials, we see new members we can’t believe are members join to fight the cause, we see Darth Maul (Sam Witwer) come back to try and lure Ezra over to the dark side, we see who the Phoenix Squad has as an Empire insider (still not sure this person can be trusted!) And we get to see something all of us Star Wars fans have been waiting for in Episode 19: Twin Suns. What? Not going to spoil that true goosebump moment for you if you haven’t seen it, and if you haven’t seen it, why not?! You can this Tuesday on DVD and Blu Ray. Season 3 was awesome and I can’t wait to see where the final season, season 4 takes us. I’m scared, sad, and excited all at the same time!
