Hersheypark a great place to visit even in the rain, tips to enjoy the park in less than perfect weather. #HersheyPA #Sweetestmoms #Giveaway

I know you know the feeling, you plan for a great trip for your family, you make all of the arrangements, get the time off have everything set to travel and then it rains. Oh rain, why did you have to come on our vacation? Well the rain does not have to ruin your planned trip! After having a great time at a rainy weekend at Hersheypark I wanted to share what I learned that made our trip a little easier, and of course I wanted to share some great new Hersheypark additions that will make your trip even more awesome rain or shine.

If there is a planned rain storm or a surprise storm it is always best to pack a poncho, or umbrella. I saw quite a few prepared folks who brought their ponchos from home, there were ponchos from hotels and four other theme parks. These folks were ready for any kind of weather. Umbrellas will work in a pinch, but I for one really do not want to tote that around all day. With a poncho you are hands free, and you do not have to worry about sitting on wet rides, your bottom is covered. We went with the rain proof jacket and a hood. It worked well for us and we stayed dry for the most part.
What was there to do at Herheypark in the rain? There was plenty! Most of the rides were open, including the coasters. Of course this may vary with each storm, we experienced a light to heavy drizzle pretty much the entire day, but with thunderstorms I am sure there are more rules with what rides can operate. If you are not in the mood to get wet at all perhaps the outside coasters are not for you.
Plenty of rides were undercover including, the family friendly coaster the, Laff Trakk, The Monorail, The Ferris Wheel, Merry-go-round, and other great family rides such as, Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge, The Music Express, the Whip and The Kissing Tower. We rode each of these rides and stayed pretty dry. The great employees were using a squeegee and wiping down the rides nonstop to make the seats as dry as they can for the guests.

There are plenty of inside arcades to ride out the storm. The arcades are filled with the hottest games and are pretty big so there are plenty of games to choose from. In the mood to play a game for a prize?

There are plenty of fun games that start at $2.00 a play and range from 10 rings to 3 balls for $2.00 not a bad deal at all. All of the games have overhangs where you can duck in to keep dry while you are trying to win a cool prize. Take some time to stay dry and do a little shopping. Hersheypark has plenty of places to pick up a souvenir or two. Pick up a great magnet or shirt to commentate your visit, or you can pick up some delicious sweet treats from candy to cupcakes to fudge Hershey has it all.
Go character hunting, kids love to meet the Hershey characters from the candy they love, they are out even in the gloomy weather. Look for large overhangs they like to hang out under them, because they don’t like to get wet, well they are made of chocolate after all! We met up with a super adorable Mr. Milk Duds, he was so cute!
What is new at Hersheypark for 2017?

If you have a thrill seeker in your family they are going to have a blast with the new Hershey Triple Tower! This new for 2017 ride is the first choose-your-thrill triple tower in the United States.  The three towers are three separate heights and with different kinds of thrills!
The largest of the towers is the Hershey's Tower, standing at 189 feet high, our tallest drop tower features two gravity-defying experiences, SPACE SHOT & TURBO DROP, which rockets riders to the top before blasting back to the bottom at 45 miles per hour! The medium tower is the Reese's Tower, standing at 131 feet high, kick it up a notch with two thrilling cycles of positive and negative G forces on our second tallest drop tower!  The smallest is the Hershey's Kisses Tower, this stands at 80 feet high, warm up with two exhilarating cycles of positive and negative G forces on our thrilling drop tower!

Park guests were so excited to ride these new rides, that the guests were lining up in the rain, and riding the rides again and again. As I watched the guests and my husband get in line again and again to ride the ride, they were screaming and smiling at the same time.
I have to admit these were a bit too intense for me, perhaps one day I will be brave enough to try out the Hershey's Kisses Tower, it is the smallest of the three but it is still pretty big...
One day I may be brave enough to try it, maybe? A perk of going to the park in the rain is, if you are willing to stand in the rain there are super popular rides like the Hershey Triple Tower that have manageable ride lines, and you can take advantage of this and ride the ride again and again.
If you are ready to get inside and enjoy a great meal another new addition to Hersheypark is Chick-fil-A® This new rood establishment is located in Founder's Way, this Chick-fil-A location will serve a menu of fresh, handcrafted favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday. Chick-fil-A® fans rejoice, there is now one in Hersheypark!

You can get all of your favorite chicken sandwiches and fresh salads here. The prices are comparable to other Chick-fil-A®  locations, the prices are not really “theme park prices” so you can afford for the family to eat here and enjoy. I just wanted to give you a head up though, they do not accept coupons at this location, and they do not accept Hershey gift cards either.
We had an amazing time in the rain, and yes it eventually tapered off just before evening fell, we were even greeted with a rainbow. The rain did not dampen our fun, and I hope if you have a Hersheypark day, you will have a great time rain or shine! Hersheypark’s summer season is Now- September 24th the park is also open in the fall for select days in October and for the select days during the holiday season, in November to December.  Save time and purchase Hersheypark tickets at home, buy and print your tickets and go right to the park entrance, such a time saver!

I love touring the factory and love the arcades. I'm not much of a ride person, but I do like the simple ones. My kids are the opposite and love the towers.

I like Hersheypark's Super Duper Looper the most. I remember riding it for the first time right after it was built in 1977 and many more times after that.

My daughter and her best friends absolutely love Fahrenheit and Laff Track. My daughter wants to go so bad for her birthday in July and to bring her 3 closest friends. This would really allow us to take them and go. They have such a blast there and I personally love Hershy World and the town is just so adorable.

I love the Hotel Hershey. I had a raging toothache years ago when I was last at Hershey Park. I'd love to go back under happier circumstances.
