Minecraft. It’s a name and game I’ve had the chance to become VERY familiar with over the past couple of years. If you’ve never heard of Minecraft, where have you been?! Minecraft is a crafting/building/adventure game that allows players to play how they want. If you like to build and create then you can play in the creative mode and build whatever you can imagine. Like a little more adventure? Play survival mode, in survival mode you’ll have to mine to get the elements to craft weapons and armor and fend off all sorts of square but dangerous characters. Play alone or in a group, there is no right or wrong way to play Minecraft. 

My daughter is obsessed with this game, she started off small by building mostly mud and dirt huts, as she learned and became more proficient with the game and the dynamics of placing all these blocks in the right order her world became larger and more detailed. She began playing solo and kept her world to herself, then over time she met other kids in school and on-line and became a part of their Minecraft community, they build together and have a blast creating whatever they can think of. 

Usually before we go to bed, we’re called into her room and given a quick rundown of what was done, rollercoasters, mansions, hidden bunkers deep beneath the earth….so hidden that my daughter (its creator) forgets where she put it! Their world even has a Starbucks in it! See check out my daughters Starbucks! (she was really proud of this creation). 

What they do is the tip of the iceberg with this game, we’ve seen entire theme parks meticulously detailed from top to bottom, entire metropolises built from ground up, and fictional movie universes created down to an exact match….this is a simple but truly amazing game.

That’s just the game, there are a whole host of other Minecraft at Best Buy related collectibles out there (building blocks, toy weapons, torch lamps, etc.) With the holiday’s creeping up on us quickly, if you have a Minecraft devotee in your life like I do, you’ll want to hit Best Buy for all of your Minecraft needs.
