Are you excited for the release of the Fox movie Nine Lives this funny movie stars, big names stars such as Kevin Spacey, Christopher Walken, Robbie Amell & Jennifer Garner. In the movie Nine Lives, Tom hates cats, but he is without a birthday gift for his daughter and time is running out.
His GPS directs him to a mystical pet store brimming with odd and exotic cats where the store's eccentric owner presents him with a majestic tomcat. En route to his daughter's party, Tom has a terrible accident. When he regains consciousness he discovers he has become trapped inside the body of the cat. Nine Lives is available on Digital HD October 25th and on Blu-ray & DVD November 1st!
My family and I were so excited to see this movie, from the first trailer, it got us so interested to see it. How would it be like to turn from a businessman to a cat? It is going to be funny I know that for sure. We were also geared up to see the movie because we got to meet one of the guest stars! Earlier this year we were super lucky to be in the presence of Lil Bub! She made her acting debut in the pet store scene in Nine Lives, be sure to be on the lookout for her!
To celebrate the upcoming dvd release of this great family film I have put together a great yet gross Nine Lives inspired Kitty Litter Cake! Don't worry it is delicious! This easy to make cake will surely be a hit at your next party or get together. A Nine Lives inspired Kitty Litter Cake! Here is what you need to make this amazing cake:
2 Boxes of your favorite cake mix
2 containers of your favorite icing
Package of Golden Oreo's (30 cookies)
Green food coloring
1 (12 ounce) package tootsie rolls
New Kitty Litter pan (must be NEW!!)
New Kitty Litter Scoop (again must be NEW!!)
Bake two cake mixes separately in a long metal baking dish as instructed on the box. You will also need eggs and oil etc, whatever the cake mix box calls for. After cakes are completely cooled add them to the new Kitty Litter box, then layer with your favorite icing one center layer and the rest for the top of the cake. For the "litter" topping you need to blend up the Oreo cookies, (you can use any vanilla cream filled cookies) for this it is best to put half of the cookies in the processor (about 15 cookies) then blend and make sure they have a small kitty litter consistency. If you add too many cookies they will get gummy and it will be harder to mix them. Put 15 mixed cookies in a bowel, then mix the remaining cookies.
When the cookies are blended take out about 1/4 cup of the mix put into a separate bowel. Add drops of green food coloring to the small mixture of cookies. This will make the cookies look even more like little, like those crystals in the litter!
Take the green speckled mix and combine all of the cookie crumbs, then add the cookie crumbs to the top of the cake. Now it is time to make things really gross (remember yet, still yummy) take half of the unwrapped tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until softened. You can use your imagination shape the pliable rolls into "deposits" a couple on top of the cake. You can even make some half covered to give it a real look! Serve the cake using the new kitty litter scoop to make the cake seem even more like the real thing.
Gross isn't it? But the kids love it, and with the taste, everyone will love this too! I would love to hear how your Kitty Litter cake came out... Have you ever tried making one? Are you going to make one? Why not have a fun family movie night with the new release of Nine Lives and a yummy home made kitty litter cake!?
