The leaves are starting to change and there is a chill in
the air, ah fall. Fall is one of my favorite seasons, the great weather, and
pumpkin flavored everything what is not to like? One of my most favorite parts
of fall is being able to go out with the family and have fun outside with being
overheated or freezing. One of the fun things to do in fall is attend a local
fall fest.
I was very fortunate, being a Peanuts Ambassador to be invited to
check out the new Giant Peanuts’ themed Corn Maze, at Shady Brook Farm! To
celebrate the 50th anniversary of Its The Great Pumpkin Charlie
Brown farms all across the country have these amazing Peanuts themed corn
mazes!
The day couldn’t be nicer for a visit to Shady Brook Farm,
this 100+ year old farm is just a short drive from Philadelphia, but it seems
like it is a world away. I haven’t visited the farm in over 20 years, the last
visit was when my husband and I were dating, going on a haunted date night back
in the good old days. I remember visiting the farm and getting pretty spooked,
my husband (then boyfriend) pulled out his cell phone and shined the light on
the darkness…
This may not be a big occurrence these days but back then, the people
we were with were like wow, he has a light on his phone! (I told you it was a
long time ago…). These days we are all for more family friendly experiences, my daughter is not the biggest fan of being scared. I could not wait to check out the farm to see what was new and
what has changed. I am happy to say the farm was just as great as I remembered.

I mean HUGE! Off we went, were we going to be able to finish this
maze? Well it took a little while but yes we finished it, after a bit of
getting lost and lots of laughs we made it to the end.
We went this way we went that way.... First my husband was in charge of leading the way then we got terribly lost! Then my daughter happily took over the quest to find the end of the maze.
Luckily there were markers that gave us hints on where we have been before.. We past the yellow marker then the purple. My daughter was determined to find the way out. It was fun seeing her try to analyze the maze, but also just wonder like the kid she is. She is growing up so fast, and I treasure these moments.
We had such a nice day at the farm, checking out the pumpkin donuts, to the pumpkin patch and all of the other great fall fun. I don’t know why we waited 20 years to return, it was such a short drive from our home and Shady Brook Farm was pretty and had lots to do to get us all in the fall mood.
