I
love Peanuts year-round, of course (who doesn’t?)—but when October
rolls around, I get especially excited, because we’re officially kicking
off PEANUTS HOLIDAY SEASON! There’s nothing better than Halloween with
Linus and the Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving with Charlie Brown’s
disastrous dinner, and of course, the classic Charlie Brown Christmas.
To get the mood going, I recently got this package of Peanuts holiday goodies from Oriental Trading Company, which offer a variety of ways to bring the spirit of Peanuts into Halloween and Thanksgiving festivities! From fun art projects to must have holiday accessories, Oriental Trading has everything you could need!

Makes 4 dozen cookies:
½ cup butter
½ cup Peanut Butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup light brown sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon of vanilla
2 tablespoons of Pumpkin butter (or apple butter if you
would like)
2 cups of flour
½ tea spoon of baking soda
¼ teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
½ cup of additional sugar
¼ teaspoon of additional cinnamon
Keep ½ cup of sugar in a bowl, and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon aside. Mix Butter, and peanut
butter. Add sugars egg, vanilla and apple butter. Mix flour, baking soda, salt,
and cinnamon, stir into creamed mixture. Roll mix into ½ inch balls, then roll the
balls into the extra sugar & cinnamon. Place balls on cookie sheet
about one inch apart. Flatten each ball
slightly with the back of a fork. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
These cookies came out amazing! The cookies were soft and
had a great touch of peanut and pumpkin flavor that my family loved. This
would be a great recipe to make with the kids, the kids could be in charge of
rolling the cookie balls and dipping them in the sugar. These would be great to
make together for any fall get togethers!
Prices range from $2.20 to $21.99, and the items are available at orientaltrading.com. And the happy memories will last all the way until next year’s holiday season!
