Ok I know what some are thinking, Honey
Bunches of Oats for a fry? Hmm how is that going to taste? Well to give you a
hint my husband who is not a sweet potato fan loved these crunchy treats. These
fries were simple to make and I had fun making them with my little helper. My
daughter has become such a fan of cooking with me. It takes me back to cooking
with my mom when I was little it was a great time for the both of us.
My daughter was in charge of dipping the fries
in the flour then the egg then the cereal mixture. She had a great time playing
chef! The steps to make the fries were
simple and fun. For our topping we used just a touch of the harissa aioli in
the mayonnaise mixture, just for a little spice.
My husband and I like it hot,
but my daughter… not so much. There was just the right amount of flavor. So overall we were very impressed with these
fries they were sweet and crunchy and the Harissa Ailoi gave the
fries a nice kick, without being over spiced.
I never thought of using this cereal in
this way, sure it is great in a bowl with milk, but it is also great with other
things as well. My family just devoured
the fries they loved the sweet and spicy crunch. Next up for us is using the
same “breading” for chicken cutlets… That sounds pretty good, it would be like
a chicken and waffles dish, part sweet part savory!
