Philly Farm & Food Fest at the Philadelphia Convention Center in 4/13/14 #Giveaway


  Do you love to try new things? How about fun healthy food the whole family will love? Well you are going to love the upcoming event, Philly Farm & Food Fest! Food Fest is happening at the Philadelphia Convention center thus weekend, Sunday April 13th from 11am-4pm.  Here is some more information about this great event from the press release:
Philadelphia, PA – April 7, 2014 – Want to learn how to pull mozzarella? Does canning seem interesting but way too intimidating? Ever ponder what a beekeeper actually does or wonder about the day in the life of a nationally acclaimed film director? Head over to Philly Farm & Food Fest (#Fest). 

On Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center Annex from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm to feed the mind with lectures and demos, body and yes, even soul because everything is local and sustainable. Now in its third year, Philly Farm & Food Fest will feature 132 vendors sampling and selling locally grown and produced foods. Meet the farmers, chefs and small business owners that are on the cutting edge of Philadelphia’s flourishing artisan food scene.
Get inspired at the Demo Kitchen and learn from farm-to-table chefs like Chef Barbie Marshall, a Southwest Philadelphia native who competed on FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen; Roberta Pipito, who will prepare a noodle-free, gluten-free “spaghetti,” and Char Nolan will show you how to shop and prepare whole food, vegetarian dishes that can be made for under ten dollars in ten minutes. Top off all this fun with an informative and exciting panel discussion, “Great News About Good Food” led by nationally acclaimed hospitality consultant and food blogger Clark Wolf. 
The expanded Local Libations Lounge will feature Dad's Hat Rye Whiskey, Dock Street Brewing Company, Frecon Farm's Cidery, Paradocx Vineyard, Philadelphia Distilling, Sly Fox Brewing Company, Stonekeep Meadery, Subarashii Kudamono, who will introduce a new dry Asian Pear Wine, Victory Brewing Company and Weyerbacher Brewing Company.

Sam Mink, owner of Oyster House, will lead a guided tasting of delicious east coast oysters and clams in Shellfish Salon. Experience freshly shucked salty beauties from Cape May Salts and Choptank Oyster Company and freshly cooked clams from Heritage Shellfish Cooperative.

General Admission tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children 12 and under are free. A limited number of tickets are still available for the timed and guided tastings in the Local Libations Lounge and Shellfish Salon for $15 per person, participants must be 21 to take part and advance purchase is necessary. Tickets are available at phillyfarmfest.org.
