 Tortle Products Launches in Babies R Us Nationwide

Denver, Colorado—(February 19, 2014) -- Tortle Products, manufacturer of the innovative Tortle beanie, launches in more than 340 Babies R Us stores nationwide. The Tortle is a cotton repositioning beanie that aids in the prevention and treatment of Flat Head Syndrome. The Tortle works by gently repositioning baby’s head while baby is laying on their back, sitting in a car seat, stroller, bouncer, swing or other baby gear that rests against baby’s head.

The incidence of Flat Head Syndrome has increased to epidemic proportions since the introduction of the “Back to Sleep” campaign in 1992.  More than a million babies are diagnosed with the condition each year in the U.S. alone.  The increase in diagnosis has been attributed to baby’s lack of movement and excessive amount of time infants spend on or against flat surfaces.  The American Academy of Pediatrics does recommend regular head repositioning of babies younger than six months.  This can be accomplished by newborns wearing a Tortle beanie for the first 6 months of life to support healthy development.

Babies “R” Us stores will carry the Tortle beanie in stores and online.  There will be two color options available in stores, pink and blue in addition white will be available on-line.  The Tortle beanies are available in small, medium and large sizes at a suggested retail price of $19.99.
