If you hear the words “no soup for you!” uttered you pretty much know the reference, thanks for Seinfeld we were introduced in a way to Al Yeganeh...the SoupMAN. He really existed and so did his soup kitchen and when we took a trip to New York in 2000 our bus tour stopped at his soup kitchen and the aroma coming from the kitchen was so intoxicating, so wonderful, so glorious that we couldn't believe what we were smelling.
Being two mostly broke twenty somethings we weren't able to buy soup that day and it's been something that has haunted us for the past fourteen years! My husband always says I wish we found a way to scrape up the money to buy the soup...if it tasted half as good as it smelled it would have easily been the best soup we've ever eaten. Here we are fourteen years later and we finally had our chance to taste the Soupman's soup. Wow. That's all I can say...
We received a nice variety of soups from The Original Soupman tomato bisque, chicken noodle, lobster bisque, lentil, crab and corn chowder, chicken gumbo and (in Newman's voice) jambalaya. We've been eating soup regularly since we received our soups and we're fighting each other over who gets to eat what flavor! If you serve this soup to unsuspecting people they'll think you made it, it tastes so fresh and so good that it really tastes like the Soupman is in your kitchen preparing it from scratch!
Our only complaint is that there is sadly no mulligatawny soup offered yet and that's just because of our love of that episode of Seinfeld and I've always been curious to taste it but have never had the chance.
If you love easy meals and you love soup once you taste the Original Soupman's soup you'll never look at soup the same way. It's what it's cracked up to be and then some. This isn't your mother's soup in a can this a whole world different. Just remember don't ask for bread....

How cool! Looks so very yummy. Especially on these cold winter days. They all sound good but now I've got a craving for the corn chowder!

How neat! I love the cartons that they come in. I've noticed some other soup brands have went to pouches (shaped sort of like capri sun drinks?) which I sort of like because they have less preservatives and such compared to cans but they are SO frustrating to store and keep up right in my cupboard - these rectangular cartons seem like the best of both worlds.

Yum! This sounds delicious. We're huge soup eaters (and Seinfeld fans) so I'm sure these would go quickly in our house.
