This is an animated movie featuring the voice talents of Will Ferrell, Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson to name a few and oh yeah even Shaquille O'Neal has a voice cameo! This is a fun movie about Emmet Brickowski (Chris Pratt) your Joe Average Lego who is happy to follow the rules of life or instruction manuals set up by President Business (Will Ferrell) until his chance run in with Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) turns his whole world upside down. The animation was great, the figures looked just like plastic and you find yourself believing that the world they live in was literally made from Lego bricks and the 3D was subtle and not over done.
Emmet an ordinary Lego has now been mistaken as the extraordinary Master Builder and is now thrust into the spotlight to save their universe from getting glued. The voice talent of this movie alone is worth the price of admission, Pratt is wonderful as Emmet and Morgan Freeman kills as a parody of himself (hang around as the credits roll for a great joke,) and Liam Neeson as Bad Cop/Good Cop is hilarious.
This is just the tip of the iceberg here, so many people helped make this movie fun and hearing their voices to help bring to life Lego figures was really great. And a special nod to Charlie Day as Benny the 80's Astronaut, my daughter loved him and when we got home she dug through my husband's old Lego mini figures to find his Astronauts so now she has a Benny of her own.
The Lego Movie in theaters 2/7/14

This animated movie looks wonderful. I do know a lot of adults who are looking forward to this. Legos are still so popular.
