 Peanut butter and chocolate, are a match made in heaven, to me there is nothing more scrumptious and delicious. So when I had the chance to check out a check out a cook book that was entirely filled with great chocolate peanut butter desert creation.. Well I did not have to think twice, I was ready and I could not wait to bake! There were so many amazing sound recipes, from bread pudding to cheese cake.. 

What a wonderful selection but what to make hmmm? Well after much deliberation I settled on the first item I would make from the cookbook (there will be many more down the road, I am sure) I came up with Dark Chocolate Dreams Marbled Pound Cake. I have never make pound cake, so I wanted to challenge myself and make this rich dessert.  Here is the easy to follow recipe to bake this amazing cake at home:

 Dark Chocolate Dreams Marbled Pound Cake

Dark Chocolate Dreams Marbled Pound Cake (recipe from 31 Days of Dark Chocolate Dreams Cookbook)

Takes: 1.5 hours plus 15 minutes to cool Makes: 8-12 slices

Ingredients:

Nonstick cooking spray

1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, softened

1 ¼ cups sugar

4 large eggs, at room temperature

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon of salt

½ cup dark chocolate dream peanut butter

1.       Preheat oven to 325 degrees  and spray a 9X5 loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.

2.       In a mixing bowl beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixture until creamy. Add the eggs and the vanilla extract and continue beating until well combined.

3.       In a separate mixing bowl combine with flour, baking powder and salt. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and fold together, just until a batter forms. Transfer 1/3 of this batter to another mixing bowl and stir in the Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter.

4.       Pour half of the vanilla pound cake into the prepared pan  and then top with the Dark Chocolate Dreams batter. Top with the remaining vanilla batter and use the tip of a knife to lightly swirl both batters together.

5.       Bake 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool for at least 15 minutes before removing from the pan and slicing to serve. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.

This came out amazing! The pound cake had a wonderful flavor that my family loved. The only issue I had, was my fault I did not “swirl” the chocolate as much as I should have so it was not much of a swirl. But it still looked great, and tasted even better.

 So if you are looking for a new cookbook, that has amazing sweets, that are just as good as they look in the picture. I would highly suggest picking up a copy of 31 Days of Dark Chocolate Dreams Cookbook, and of course a jar or two of Dark Chocolate Dreams.
