With the end of winter finally in sight, you’ve no doubt
popped your thinking cap on to come up with your next holiday destination.
Well, how about a cruise? You’ve no doubt heard at least one of your friends,
family or co-workers raving about their adventures on the ocean, so maybe it’s
time you started to consider one too! Below are just a few reasons to think
about joining the cruise club.
On a cruise you can visit a number of different locations in
one holiday, and these days there’s a variety of operators who can whisk you
away to all over the world. Companies such as Princess Cruises offer cruises to all kinds of faraway destinations, including
Alaska, Japan, and that cruise classic the Caribbean, to name but a few. So,
rather than just heading to Tokyo for two weeks, you can soak up the delights
of Korea, Taiwan, and even a hint of Russia! You might even develop a taste for
a particular destination and decide to return there for a longer vacation.
Think of a cruise as a smorgasbord of travel delights for you to sample.
Cruise staff usually have a number of great local activities
to do while you’re in port, or you can head off and explore yourself – just
make sure you get back to the ship on time!
It’s All Yours
On a set destination holiday, you have to consider the cost
of flights, accommodation, and food while you’re away — all of that can soon
mount up. Not so with a cruise. You’ll have a cabin on the ship and most — if
not all — of your meals will be covered in the price already. Depending on your
destination, you may still have to book flights, though some cruise companies
offer inclusive airport transfers. However, it can be cheaper to book the
flights yourself. If you book your own flights, you can also extend your trip
and spend a few extra days in one destination either side of the cruise.
The Choice is Yours
Now that there are so many cruise operators these days, you
really have the chance to find something that suits both you and your family.
With cruises, gone are the days of holidays that bore the kids to tears and
destinations that the adults love but the kids loathe. Shop around and you’re
sure to come across something that meets your requirements. If you’re traveling
with children, look for cruises that have on-board children’s entertainers or
kids’ clubs to keep them busy during the day. If you’d prefer a kid-free
environment, you might prefer to indulge in a high-end, luxury cruise for some
peace and quiet.
Social Butterflies
Cruises offer holidaymakers the chance to chat with new
people and form lasting friendships. Group activities and communal
dinner tables mean you’ll have tons of opportunities to mix and mingle. Who
knows, maybe you’ll even find a new travel buddy!
Cruises… they offer unlimited potential for fun, friendship,
and exploration. Not only, they free you of some of the holiday hassles, such
as finding accommodation and places to eat (and by extension, free up some of
your cash for the souvenirs!). You can travel the world for a little less. That
can’t be bad, can it!
Have you ever been on a cruise?
