Valley Forge PA a great place for the family to stay! #Giveaway #Travel

 I recently let you all know about a great site called Hoodditt. This is a deal site offering $0.99 deals from your favorite local and small businesses. A local business that works with Hoodditt is  the  Valley Forge Casino Resort they have some great deals on food and more available on Hoodditt from time to time.  I was recently given the chance to check out all this great place has to offer including the hotel, and the great eats.

This past weekend my family and I had a chance to “get away”, I use the quotes because our getaway was only 25 minutes away but still it's nice to get away and feel like you're a million miles from home. We stayed at the Radisson in the Valley Forge Casino Resort  and had a wonderful time despite the weather.

The room we stayed in was a great size room and would easily handle a family of 4, there was plenty of space to spread out and with 2 queen beds you can easily accommodate 4 people. And these just aren't your run of the mill hotel beds.....no way! The beds at the Radisson are Sleep Number beds! We have a Sleep Number bed ourselves so I knew sleeping wouldn't be a problem for my husband who always seems to have issues sleeping away from his bed.

The bathroom was set up in such a way that if someone was getting showered the rest of the party could still use the sink since it was outside of the bathroom itself, I like this kind of setup since it allows multiple people to get ready at once. Besides the great room the Radission offers free WI-FI, a pool (swimming wasn't in the cards for us with all that snow,) a newly renovated fitness center a whole host of restaurants and a spa! They essentially have what you're looking for here.

And when you're ready there are a whole host of things to do in and around the resort. You're connected to a casino for one so if you like to gamble or just love the sound of slot machines you're in luck and you're only steps away from it. We had lunch at the Valley Tavern right after we checked in because we were starving, check in was a breeze and I love hotels that make check in's simple and not complicated. 

Our lunch was delicious, there are many restaurants to choose from at the Resort but the Valley Tavern kept calling out to us and we're glad we ate there. 

We started off with cheesesteak spring rolls (being near philly, cheese steaks are a big thing) they were cheesy and delicious. 

 My husband had Shepherd's Pie, I ate the Mac N Cheese Gratin and my daughter had a bowl of French Onion Soup. The food was hot and delicious and the service was attentive but not overbearing.

 Of course we had to try the delicious dessert! We tried a peanut butter chocolate divine treat:

And a classic banana split, both were amazing, and really were a treat.

One of the really nice features of the Radisson is that it's literally minutes away from the King of Prussia mall, and if you've never had the chance to the KoP mall well you're missing out. The mall is HUGE, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes! We had the chance to do some last minute Christmas shopping and just soak up the holiday atmosphere and the hustle and bustle of a busy mall in December. 

And if you're not in the mood to drive to the mall the hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the mall so you can leave your car behind. We had a blast and I'm glad we had the chance to have a little get away to unwind and recharge our batteries, we were only 20 odd minutes away from home but it felt like a million miles and that was nice.
