 Are you looking for a cool new friend that the kids will love playing with? Well I have a great new friend that I would like to introduce you all to, ROMO a cool robot friend. Here is a little more information about ROMO from the website:

Our Take:

 A robot who can become your new best friend? Is that….how’s that even possible?! It’s possible thanks to ROMO What is ROMO? ROMO is a robot who lives in your home and roams around on his cool base, he’s kind of like R2 meets Wall-E in that he can do things for you and he has personality. ROMO via an app can be programmed by your child (or you) to do a whole host of incredibly cool things such as: get happy when he recognizes your face, get scared when he gets picked up or even get angry when you get in his face. With the help of an iOS you can make ROMO come alive.

 Just dock your device (iPhone 4 through 5 and iPod touch 4^th gen) and ROMO comes alive. I can’t put into words just how cool this is. It really needs to be seen to be believed. For how complex he might appear programming ROMO is beyond simple. And what I love about it is that my daughter is getting a basic understanding on how computer programming works without even realizing it. I love to trick her into learning!

 ROMO has a multitude of features that you can control with the help of another iOS device, you can whirl him around the house (watch out for steps!) Leave him alone and he’ll be sad, but his curiosity will kick in and he’ll go looking for you! Have a friend or family who might be hundreds of miles away tap into ROMO to control him and best of all you can see and hear each other through ROMO. The list of things to do is endless and one of the coolest things is that no two ROMO’s will be alike.

 We live in a world where we have powerful phones at our disposal, phone’s more powerful than NASA (heck memory sticks are more powerful!) had to put men on the moon. We can harness the power and tap into and have fun with it and learn about programming and robotics along the way thanks to ROMO. What an absolutely genius invention. Now if I can get my husband to stop trying to connect ROMO to a trash can to make him look more like an astromech.
