My husband is a curmudgeon (his word!)
through most of the year but he seems to come alive at this time of
the year, it's an amazing transformation, once we get past Halloween
he seems to get a lot more chipper and gets quite festive quickly.
One of the things he loves to do is to watch a Christmas movie every
Saturday night. We have a lot to choose from but the one movie he
keeps going back to is Mickey's Christmas Carol.
I've known him for eighteen years and for that length of time we've been watching an old VHS tape, it's funny to think that something that was so modern to us is so outdated and foreign to our daughter. This year the tradition was spruced up a little bit, the VHS tape is being retired because to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mickey's Christmas Carol Disney has decided to release this classic on blu ray.

Bonus Clip: Intermission
All I can say is wow! This movie looks
beautiful in high def, it's so clean and crisp and just pops off the
screen. This is such a great movie with Mickey playing the role of
Bob Cratchit, Scrooge McDuck playing Ebenezer Scrooge and Goofy
playing the ghost of Jacob Marley. This is Disney's take on the
Charles Dickens classic and it's great movie, a timeless classic as
my husband likes to call it.
It's funny and sad and joyous all at the same time and the amazing thing is even after seeing it countless times it doesn't get old, it seems to get better with age. And a new movie we added to the rotation is Winnie the Pooh A Very Merry Pooh Year. I love Piglet, I made no bones about it so anytime I get to watch something with Piglet in it is a good thing! Add a scarf and earmuffs with antlers and well.....that's just cuteness overload.
Much like A Christmas Carol a Very Merry Pooh Year is a similar story path it's funny and thoughtful and playing the Scrooge type is Rabbit who needs to discover the true meaning of the season. This is another beautiful Blu Ray film and the colorful 100 Acre Woods really looks fantastic, the colors are so vivid and bright and it's almost mesmerizing. Like Mickey and the gang Pooh and his band of cohorts are equally as timeless and a part of our lives and if you're like us and just like to be able to sit down and watch movies together and not have to worry about what your child is watching Mickey's Christmas Carol and A Very Merry Pooh Year are two classic tales that look great on blu ray.

And not to worry if
you don't have a blu ray these films also come with dvd copies and
digital copies, so no matter what you watch movies on you're covered.
And something that my husbands trusty VHS copy of Mickey's Christmas
Carol doesn't have is extras. These two movies are loaded with extras
such as sing a long’s, games and other animated classics for hours
of enjoyment for everyone. These great movies would make perfect stocking stuffers, so make sure to pick up a copy or tow of each this holiday season.

You can purchase these great holiday classics at a store near you or online at Amazon, Mickey's Christmas Carol and Winnie the Pooh: A Very Merry Pooh Year.

I remember watching this when I was little. I loved it then as much as I love it now. Would make a great Holiday movie for my grandkids to love!
