Hershey Christmas Candy Lane a great place to visit with the family #Travel

A place that I've loved to visit for many years has been Hershey Park, in the summer or in the fall/winter I just love going there. This past weekend we took a little road trip 90 miles up the PA Turnpike to Hershey to have some fun at Hershey Park Christmas Candylane. The park is all decked out in two million lights and Christmas music is playing all throughout the park and the weather had a nice chill in the air really giving it a festive feel.

The crowds are good but not to the point that you can't get onto anything or have to wait hours to do so, we like to take our time and stroll around and when the ride strikes us we jump on a ride. I love to be able to tour a park like that, just leisurely stroll around and not have to run around like a maniac to get onto things. And with the nice chill in the air it was nice to not sweat like we normally do when we visit in the summer months.

This is a family tradition of ours for that goes back several years, my husband and I did this before we were husband and wife and have continued to enjoy Hershey  Christmas Candy Lane with our daughter who absolutely loves Hershey Park as much as we do. It has been fun to see the changes the park has gone through in the past 18 years we've been visiting there, and we like to reminisce about our dating days and the fun we've had and my husband told our daughter about the time we were stuck on the Skyview during a mega thunder storm and were soaked in an odd way....my husband was soaked on the left side I was soaked on the right side and our "middles" were perfectly dry. Thankfully there was no rain on Saturday night!

With Hershey of course they are going to to have an amazing amount of goodies to purcahse, here are some of the selection that I loved:

Christmas Candylane is an amazing event if you get a chance to visit Hershey, with 30 rides to choose from and reduced ticket costs this event is an amazing value. The only rides not available are the roller coasters due to the weather. And if it's really cold do you really want to zip around at a high rate of speed outside? We went on a few rides like the Skyview, Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge, and Kissing Tower just to name a few.
We visited Santa's reindeer at the stables and a few steps away from the stable is another tradition my husband winning a giant stuffed animal at the ball toss game. The game is simple toss a ball into a glass (martini glasses for a small prize, orange and yellow goblets for medium and large prizes) and win a prize.

My husband bought a 15 ball bucket for 5 dollars and started tossing, he successfully landed 2 balls in martini glasses and won a red mouse and a blue mouse that our daughter affectionately named Bob and Susan. I knew he wasn't happy not landing a ball into a orange cup for a large win and I knew he'd buy another 15 balls....he did, and we're now the proud owners of a large gingerbread man that creeps out the cat.
The gingerbread man is now a part of the family he gets along nicely with a large Clarice (from Rudolph) and a large Frosty. As far as games go this is a fun game and a super value this is a real gem in my eyes. As the day wore on and darkness crept in the lights around the park became more prominent and really lit the park up beautifully.
N.O.E.L. - Nights of Extraordinary Lights! Is a light show starting at 5 PM and runs throughout the night at 30 minute intervals. What is N.O.E.L.? It  is 125,000 dancing lights in synch with great Christmas music and with 4 different shows you'll see something different every time. Something new this year is ice skating near the reindeer stables, for a 2 dollar rental fee you can ice skate at Hershey Park. There are so many things to do and see and we have such a great time that's what keeps us coming back to the Sweetest Place on Earth.

If you are ever in the Hershey PA area in November or December. Select dates from 11/15 - 12/31.  I would recommend checking out the holiday decorations and fun, Hershey Park $12.85 admission per person. And Hershey Chocolate World (free).

Have you ever visited Hershey Park during the holidays?

I have the fondest memories of taking my kids there when they were younger. I absolutely loved getting roasted on the informational Hershey ride inside the main welcome center.
