Winner of the 2012 Humanitas Prize in Children’s Animation, the Pound Puppies series is currently airing on The Hub in the U.S. and YTV in Canada and stars the voices of Eric McCormack, Yvette Nicole Brown, Michael Rapaport, John DiMaggio, Alanna Ubach, René Auberjonois, and M. Emmet Walsh.

Our Take:

I know what you may be thinking, holiday episodes?? It is only October, it is not even Halloween yet?  I know I know, but for us we always seem to be in the holiday mood. Why not the holidays are the best times of the year, a time filled with good food good friends and a fun time had by all. We are the type of folks that will listen to Christmas music all year long, we just love it that much. So when we had the chance to check out the soon to be released dvd Pound Puppies: Holiday Hijinks, we were so excited. We are always up for some Christmas cheer even in October.

When I was a little girl in the 80’s I remember seeing those adorable little Pound Puppies commercials do you remember those? I always thought they were so cute, and I loved that they came in their own crate.  So of course I was interested in checking out this dvd with my daughter. This is a fun filled dvd that has some of the Pound Puppies that you know and love. There are some funny parts and it is just enjoyable.  Our favorite episode was the  I Heard The Barks On Christmas Eve episode. 

Overall we enjoyed the dvd, and I am sure this will be in regular rotation when the holidays are here. The Pound Puppies: Holiday Hijinks  has five great episodes. The dvd retails for $9.99 so this is a great price. If you are looking for a cute stocking stuffer make sure to pick up a copy of Pound Puppies: Holiday Hijinks for some holiday family fun.
