With all of the great looking starters we had to try at
least one. My husband was voting for the crab dip, but I adore clam strips so
much…. And clam strips are not at every restaurant, they sometimes can be hard
to find… So the clam strips won out.
Clam Strips - Hand-breaded crispy clam strips. Served with creamy tartar sauce for dipping. The clam strips were large, and filled with great tasting clam. You know when you get clam strips from the supermarket, they tend to be minced clam? Well that is nothing like the clam strips you can get at Joe’s, their clam strips were light and very flavorful. They did not taste fried, and I was a big fan. My husband and my daughter also liked the clam strip a lot.

While we decided on our entrees my daughter ordered one of the
kids specialty drinks. This was blue curacao sweetener (no alcohol) and pineapple,
topped with a shark that had a vial in his mouth the had grenadine “blood” so
when you poured the red liquid in the drink, it looked like a shark attack. It
was strange, but my daughter thought it was so cool. As a shark fan, this was
great for her, and she loved the taste too.
Fish & Chips - Flaky white fish hand-dipped in
a classic Samuel Adams beer batter. Served with fries and coleslaw. Don't
forget the malt vinegar!
My husband went with the fish and chips, mainly because he
has always wanted to try fish and chips. In all of his years he has never tried
it. He said the batter was light but had
a great flavor. The vinegar that was served on the side was a nice accompaniment
to the fish. The fries were crispy and fresh. My husband enjoyed this dish very
much.
Crawfish Half & Half -Rich, creamy crawfish etouffee
served with white rice alongside crispy fried crawfish.
This was the day of trying new things. While I have tried crawfish before, in new Orleans,
I have never had it like this. The etouffee
was nicely spiced and went well with the rice. I liked that there was the fried
and the creamy it gave you the best of both worlds. This was my favorite dish
from the restaurant, it was a good as it looks.
My daughter enjoyed the sliders children's meal, the meal
was a good size for a kids meal, and my daughter enjoyed it very much. If you
have a child that is a picky eater, Joe’s Crab Shack has a lot for kids to
choose from, so even the pickiest of eaters will find something they will love!
Of course we had to try out a dessert (how could we
not?).
Even though we were very full from our meal, we had to make room for this sweet
treats. Oh my goodness!
Crabby Apple Crumble- Better than your grandma's! You
won't find this slice of Americana anywhere but our crab shack. Paired with
cinnamon ice cream.
Doesn’t this sound
amazing? Well it tastes just as amazing as it sounds. The filling was
filled with cinnamon with just the right amount of apples. My husband being a
huge cinnamon fan, just loved the cinnamon ice cream topping, saying it
complemented the dessert very well.
Key Lime Pie - A tart pie and a graham cracker crust topped
with whipped cream. I have always been a
sucker for key lime pie, there is just something about it that calls me whenever
I see it at a restaurant. So needless to say I have tried it a lot, at many different
places. This key lime pie would place in my top three favorites. There was just
the right sweetness and tart flavor. I could only finish about a quarter of it,
the dessert was that large! Of course I packed it to go, and had it the next
day it held up very well.
And last but not least, my daughter choose the decorate a
crab as her dessert. With this fun hands on dessert you got a painters pallet
of sorts that had a crispy treat crab that was ready for you to decorate. To
decorate, simply use the paint brush and the “paint”, which was chocolate, caramel,
and strawberry sauce. My daughter had a great time decorating her masterpiece,
but she had even more fun eating it.
While we were there they turned on the disco ball, and all
of the waiters and waitresses came out to dance dance dance! They seemed to be
having a great time. The kids were invited to come to the floor to dance with
them, but my daughter was playing shy… maybe next time.
Yes, we were all impressed with Joe’s Crab Shacks food, but
I was more impressed with how much Joe’s cares. While we were there they were
collecting money for No Kid Hungry, there were offers for free food coupons when
you donate. And they even had a sweets table with homemade cupcakes and cake
with 100% of the proceeds going to No Kid Hungry. They really were working hard
for this charity, and I think that is a great thing. Here is a little more information

So if you are looking some great seafood this is the place
for you. Yes it is called Joe’s Crab
Shack, and no one at our table got crabs.. Well there were so many other options!
Perhaps the restaurant should be called Joe’s Surf and Turf, Spectacular Shrimp
and Crab Shack… well maybe not, that name just does not roll off your tongue. We
just may get crabs to eat the next time we visit. I know we will be back, and I
would highly recommend Joe’s Crab Shack for the whole family.

We don't have a Joe's crab shack near us, but it looks like a fun place to eat. I like that dessert you can draw on!
I saw one somewhere (can't remember the city) but didn't go in. Now I totally regret it. I'm not a seafood person but everyone else in the family is. I'm a total dessert person though so wow, those treats look good.
I have been a dozen times to Joe's! We like the Daytona Beach location the best!
What a fantastic restaurant for kids! Plenty to keep them occupied and the food looks delicious!
We have one of these near us and I have never been. I think that my son would love it. ... and how cute is that little crab dessert?! That would put a smile on my son's face for sure!
I LOVE Joe's Crab Shack but it's been so long since I've been there. I remember going there for a birthday (maybe my 31st?) and our waitress was a friend and announced to the restaurant that I was celebrating my 21st birthday and I heard some guy say, "Yeah, right!" LOL...the things that stick in our minds!
The food looks great and it looks like a ton of fun to hang out and eat there.
We've never been to Joe's but have heard the experience is so much fun and that's what your post screams as well. I LOVE the idea of decorating the crab. Super cute!
That dessert painting kit is cute!!
I have never eaten at Joe's Crab Shack but it sounds like the most fun restaurant I've heard of - painting your dessert? Dancing! Wow - exciting!!
Oh I've never been to Joe's Crab Shack, but we have one nearby. I need to visit! The food looks amazing and I'd love to taste the blue drink haha.
