Barbie™ Mariposa and her furry friend Zee are back in a new movie full of magic! In this whimsical adventure, Mariposa becomes the Royal Ambassador of Flutterfield and is sent to bring peace between her fairy land and their rivals, the Crystal Fairies of Shimmervale. While Mariposa doesn’t make a great first impression on their King, she quickly becomes friends with his shy daughter, Princess Catania. Throughout the adventure, Mariposa runs into some trouble and learns that she is no longer welcome in the fairyland. Shortly after leaving, she and Zee encounter a dark fairy who wishes to destroy Shimmervale. As Mariposa rushes back to warn the Crystal Fairies, Princess Catania offers to help and the two girls work side by side, proving that the best way to make a friend is to be a friend.
My Review:
I have always been a big Barbie fan, I had quite the
collection when I was a little girl and my daughter is no different. I just
love that we have a doll that we both love, it is such a nice thing to have
dolls of my past back into my life again. Today’s Barbie’s are so much more
interesting than some of my more plain Barbie’s were. I love the costumes and
the accessories. It is great that Barbie has so many DVD’s to go along with the
release of some of the new dolls.
So as soon as the movie arrived we had a bit of a girls
movie night. But our plans were halted,
we had to take a trip to the car dealership, something every kid loves, ok not
really it is not much fun at all. But I suggested that my daughter should bring
her portable dvd player and watch the dvd at the dealership. While mommy and
daddy car shopped, my daughter enjoyed this movie. And of course when we got
home we had to keep the movie night, and my daughter was more than happy to watch
the movie again with me. My daughter and
I hung out together popped some popcorn got out some candy and got comfy on the
couch and got ready for the movie. This was a very cute movie, I liked the characters
and the beautiful outfits.
Barbie Mariposa and the Fairy Princess is the newest release
from the Barbie dvd collection. . Mairposa is an adventurous fairy that is full
of spunks. For this dvd she is named the Royal Ambassador of Flutterfield. She
is to make sure there is peace with the Crystal Fairies, but this is not as
easy as it seems! Mariposa makes, and everything goes her way. Then princess Catania, is there to help… But
when Mariposa is banished from fairyland, and comes across a dark fairy what is
she to do!?? Well I am not going to spoil the movie for you, you will have to
pick up a copy to find out for yourself.
I love the bright colors and great look of this dvd. The message about
friendship, that anyone can become friends is a great theme. My daughter and I
liked this movie a lot. Of course her favorite character was Baribie’s little
critter pal, Zee. Zee is a little pinkish, purple puffball that has little
hands feet and wings. It is adorable, I have to admit. Overall the movie was a
lot of fun to watch, it was full of adventure, and even some laughs. This great
dvd also has some fun extras, make sure to check out the outtakes and watch Mariposa
try to close her suitcase over and over my daughter thought this was a funny outtake.
There is also an episode of Barbie’s
Dream House, and Polly Pocket for you to enjoy as well.
My daughter loved the movie! She is eight years old and this
was a great movie for girls her age. As soon as the movie was over she wanted
to watch it again, I gave it and we watched it again. I would recommend this movie for girls
young and old. If you are a Barbie fan you will love Barbie™ Mariposa & the
Fairy Princess.
With the holidays right around the
corner (they will be here before you know it) this DVD would make a great gift,
or stocking stuffer for that special little girl on your list this year.
Your little girl with love the dvd and these unique dolls, I am sure they will
both be a big hit!

I played with Barbies until I was probably 12! I wish kids weren't in such a rush to grow up these days.
