RAINRAPS™ started as a simple idea on a rainy
day. Stacy Struminger, a New Yorker transplanted to Richmond, VA, had long seen
the need for a more stylish, lightweight, waterproof accessory in the often wet
and humid Richmond climate. In the spring of 2011, a weeklong rainstorm left
Stacy frustrated by the lack of a fashionable, waterproof garment in her
wardrobe. Searching her coat closet in vain, Stacy had the inspiration for a
waterproof wrap that was not only utilitarian but also stylish. Sharing her idea
with her best friend, Rachel Teyssier, they decided together to make the vision
a reality. Hence, a revolution in the development of fashionable waterproof
outwear began and RAINRAPS was developed.
I was very fortunate to be able to review a Hooded in the colors, Fuchsia
+ Nectarine

As
most of you all know we love to travel, I seem to be going somewhere all the time.
Be it traveling every day to work, or traveling to a press trip or a family vacation
traveling is something I love to do. One
place we love to travel is Disney World (of course) and for those who have
traveled to central Florida you know they have a 20 minute storm each and every
day (Well it sure seems like they do, when I am there).
We would carry an
umbrella in my daughters coach and just break out the umbrella when the rain
starts. But now my daughter is getting older and she is too big her coach and
now what do we do with our umbrella? Who
wants to carry around an umbrella on rides and such? That is no fun. When I was
contacted by RAINRAPS to check out a wrap, I was so excited this would be so
wonderful for travel.
As soon as the wrap arrived my family and I were headed out to a family trip to Baltimore, it was great timing. I opened the package, and the RAINRAP came with a nice pouch to pack the wrap in. I was able to roll the wrap in the pouch and pack it in my purse easily. Luckily it did not rain in Baltimore that weekend, but I was prepared and I felt good about that.

The
RAINRAP was soft and very colorful. I loved that it folded to a small size, but
when it was unrolled it was not a wrinkled mess. I know I would not want to
wear a wrinkled mess (ok.. maybe in a severe rainstorm…) when I am out and The
RAINRAP was virtually wrinkleless. I was very happy with the quality of this
item, it was well made. It is also easy to clean, no dry cleaning needed. To
clean your RAINRAP at home simply machine wash cold, in the gentle cycle that
it. Then you are ready to go off to another adventure, staying dry and looking
good. I just wish they offered children’s
wraps, and wraps for men. Perhaps one day? I am sure everyone in the family
would love to have The RAINRAP.
