Can you believe it is
almost back to school time? All I see in stores are back to school ads and
school supplies, it is only August there are still a few weeks until school
starts, and it is still summertime. I don’t want to let the last weeks of
summer slip by me, we are going to enjoy it to the fullest. One of my favorite indulgences of the summer are those tall cool specialized
iced coffee drinks at the local coffee shops.
They taste wonderful, but the $4 for a small and up to $6.00 (Ack!) for a large? The prices can really hurt your pocketbook. I was so excited to be able to try out a new product from Keurig, Brew OverIce. This is a different kind of K-Cup that is not meant to be served hot. These special pods are sweetened, and some have the creamer inside too. The pods are such a time saver, there is no need to add milk or sugar, just pop the K-Cup in your brewer, fill the tumbler with ice and click to brew. The hot coffee or tea comes out over the ice and instantly cools and makes a great iced drink.

The first of the
K-Cups that I tried was the, Donut Shop Sweet & Creamy Regular Iced Coffee –
this had just the right amount of milk and sweetness. In a few seconds I had a readymade
cold coffee drink that was just as good as the coffee shops at nowhere near the
high prices. This was creamy sweet and delicious.
The Snapple Peach
Iced Tea, just reminded me of the homemade brewed tea my mother used to make
when I was younger, it really took me back to sitting on the porch and sipping
iced tea with my family it was great.
There is no need to
spend all of the excess money on coffee drinks this summer, when you can make
your own specialty coffee drinks in minutes for so much less! Money saved, and
I don’t have to stand in the long lines at the coffee shop?? Well that is just

I learned never to brew into a glass glass. The hot/cold temperature difference could cause the glass to shatter. Iced tea and iced coffee are so good. I'll definitely be brewing more at home. Yummy!
