My family and I were very fortunate to be able to check out a local California Pizza Kitchen recently,
The menus were amazing, there were so many unique and wonderful sounding items, what to choose what to choose? Well after scouring the items, we came up with some great choices including:
To drink, I decided on a Mango Lemonade, the lemonade was tart sweet and refreshing. The mango flavor, helped curb the tartness, I very much enjoyed this great summer drink.
Since there were so many great appetizers, and "small plates" (small plates are a bit smaller than appetizers, but there is still a nice amount on the plate and we could all have a taste) we ordered one appetizer and one small plate. For the appetizer we went with the Sesame Ginger Chicken
Dumplings - Chinese dumplings topped with sesame seeds and green onions.
Served with our soy-ginger chili sauce.
For the small plate, we choose, the Spicy Chicken Tinga
Quesadilla - Lime chicken, Monterey Jack, caramelized onions, roasted
peppers, black beans and cilantro, hearth-baked in our pizza oven. Served with
housemade ranchito sauce.
These dumplings, had a great flavor. The outer shell was thin, and the chicken inside was plentiful and well flavored. The soy ginger sauce was a great addition, it was just the right amount, and the addition of the green onions on the top was a nice crunch.
The dipping sauce with this dish was amazing, it had a cool lime flavoring with a light spicy kick! The chicken was fresh, and the quesadillas were cheesy. This was my daughters favorite item of the day. She would have eaten it all if she had her way.
For my entree I went with the Spicy Chipotle
Chicken - Chipotle adobo sauce, fire-roasted poblanos and Monterey Jack.
Topped with roasted corn & black bean salsa, cilantro and lime crema.
The pizza, had a mixture of beans and corn, and tomatoes, these were cold and they were a nice contrast with the hot pizza. The pizza had a nice spice and with the lime crema it cooled the pizza down. The size was a large personal size. I had a few slices to bring home, and they were great even a few days later.
See the yummy looking crust, it was baked just the nice crisp crust, looks good huh?
My husband went with the Chicken Tequila
Fettuccine - Our creamy jalapeño lime sauce with spinach fettuccine, onion,
bell peppers and cilantro. If you don't love it, you haven't tried it yet. He absolutely loved this pasta, with the lime twist, he could not get enough. I am sure we will be coming back for this pasta again.
My daughter enjoyed her kids meal, a plain pizza. It was nice and cheesy and my daughter ate the whole thing! (that was impressive because this was a nice sized pizza for a kids pizza).
Of course what is a meal without a dessert? Well we were so full, but of course we HAD to check at the dessert menu.... Well after we saw all of the choices we had to make room for dessert.
My husband went went with the Butter Cake - the description for the cake is Trust us. Just try it. Also available à la Häagen-Dazs. Now that description is intriguing.... so he had to try it. This cake was a buttery pound cake like cake, with a sugar bottom and a light layer of cheesecake, oh my! Yes this was as delicious as it seems. The cake was buttery, and flavorful.
Key Lime Pie - This cool dessert never goes out of style. On
a graham cracker crust with housemade whipped cream. One of my favorite pies of all time is Key Lime pie, I just love the sweetness of the graham cracker crust, and the tartness of the key lime filling, and this was one of the best key lime pies ever.
My daughter enjoyed the kids dessert brownie, would you believe this delectable chocolate treat is only $1.00? Yes kids desserts are only $1.00 this sweet treat was chocolaty and gooey my daughter really enjoyed it.
Overall we had a great meal at The California Pizza Kitchen, we had a great friendly server, who made our trip even more special. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. This will be a restaurant, that we will be visiting again and again with my family.

I wish we had a California Pizza Kitchen in our area. I keep hearing amazing things about it! I would have loved the pie.
I just looked and they have one of these about 15 minutes from me. After looking at your pictures, I just might have to take the family.
Ok, every single bit of that looks... Uh.Maze.Ing!! I need breakfast now :)
I love California Pizza Kitchen. Before we moved, we used to go there as a family all the time. But we don't have one anywhere near us anymore. I miss it.
I applyed online for the card, but the waiter didn't ask me for it each time. I wrote an email about it and I never heard anything back. At one resturant a waitress told me we could get our points online, but I
didn't see how to do that either.
