#4 Star Wars Weekends Disney World Solo trip #Starwarsweekend #Disney #Travel

After lunch I was off from Epcot to hit the Magic Kingdom. A quick trip on the monorail and I was there and I was quickly gone! The Magic Kingdom was PACKED and I wasn't about to wait in major lines and since I was getting up uber early on Friday I figured it would be best if I headed back to Pop to take it easy. I got back to Pop and called Mears to schedule my cab for Friday morning at 3 am so I could get to the Studios to get in line to buy my merchandise. I had to tell the woman from Mears 3 am a couple of times because I don't think she believed me when I said what time and where I was going to! I tried to sleep but the anticipation of the start to Star Wars Weekend was getting the best of me and I pretty much just laid in bed looking at the ceiling.
I “woke up” at 2:15 am and got myself ready for the day and by 2:30 am I was waiting for my cab, at 2:57 am I received a text letting me know my cab was dispatched and another text at 2:58 am let me know my cab had arrived...that was quick! My cabbie wasn't exactly obeying the rules of the road and drove like a maniac and I say that as a guy who isn't scared to drive slightly (a lot) over the speed limit! He dropped me off at 3 am, it took 2 minutes to get from Pop to the Studios, when you're doing 65 in a 25 and bypassing stop signs you can see why it took 2 minutes! I was headed to the first part of Star Wars weekend the great line event. I was prepared, I had a chair! I had bought a small folding chair that I was able to hook onto my backpack so I didn't have to carry it with me and I can honestly say that the chair was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I was able to sit and relax and not get stiff and sore because I was standing up for 4 and a half hours waiting to get into the Maul.
I made friends with the people around me in line and the next 4+ hours went by quickly and I was lucky the people around me this year were really nice and Star Wars geeks and not resellers who are there to make a buck and not into it as much as I am so it made for great conversations and I was asked why I didn't belong to the 501st since I was a prime candidate. The 501st is the Star Wars costuming community, the Tampa Garrison actually marches in the parade at the Studio's for all 4 weekends. I had to say no citing if I want to stay married I'll stick to dressing like me and not Boba Fett. My wife puts up with enough of my shenanigans and I'm not going to push my luck.

More to come! Stay tuned!
