Mother’s Day gift guide: Maggie Bags, purses made from recycled seat belts. #Giveaway

I am always looking for great new items that make a statement. Especially when it comes to my purses, I love purses that are unique and stylish. Recently our family has been trying to become more green, and treat mother earth better. Did you know that even your purse can be green as well?  Well Maggie bags has a great selection of bags that are made from recycled seat belts! Isn’t that an amazing idea?

The Maggie Bags legacy began with our parent company, Tennessee Webbing Products. Tennessee Webbing has kept millions of yards of narrow fabrics out of landfills since they began operation in 1991. Our desire do our part for the environment by finding creative new uses for materials originally made for other purposes has been the Maggie Bags mission since the beginning.

There are so many cars in the world today, and all are filled with seatbelts. Each year millions of yards of seat belt webbing are rejected for the slightest color variation, making the strap useless to the automaker. Originally designed to be used as the lifesaving seatbelt in your car, this polyester material is of the highest quality and made to last. Maggie Bags give new life to the unwanted fabric by creating a beautiful line of handbags.
I was very fortunate to be able to review a Cicily Bag from Maggie Bags,

This bag is the perfect size.  It is larger than the small tote to hold the right amount of needed items yet small enough to be totally cute. The Cicily Tote features the signature Maggie Bags lining and inside pockets.
The medium sized bag Cicily Bag retails for $76.00. This is quite an affordable price. With these low prices you could afford to pick up a Maggie wallet to go along with your cool purse, and yes the wallet is also made from seatbelts!  This bag is made well, and great to carry. I will be traveling to Los Angeles  next week and this will make a great airport bag, with the size of this bag I will have just the room I need to carry my tablet, my tickets and all of my other purse necessities.   This great looking purse will get noticed, and when people ask it is pretty cool to be able to tell them, yes these are real seatbelts.

The red color is a great bold color that goes with so much that I own, but if you would like another color the bag is also available in Chocolate, Lime, , Light Grey, Orange, and Black. The bag has many great features including, the bottom of the bag has four nickel-plated feet to protect the fabric from wear, that is great I am sure the bag will last longer because of this. My favorite feature is that the bag can be washed! WOW! I have never had a purse that could be thrown into the washing machine, if the seatbelts get dirty you can wash your bag, and it will come out good as new that is an amazing feature!
So if you are looking for a great gift for a special person this Mother’s Day I would recommend a bag from Maggie Bags, this is a bag that special person will love. The bags are fashionable and very functions, a great gift idea.
