Synopsis: Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei prove that laughter is relative in this hilarious comedy that’s fun for the whole family!

Old-school grandparents Artie (Crystal) and Diane (Midler) get more than they bargained for when they get stuck babysitting their type-A daughter’s (Tomei) overprotected kids. But things go from hectic to hysterical when Artie realizes the kids are running the house with their newfangled technology. By playing by his own rules, which include sugary snacks, old fashioned games and tough love, Artie manages to outsmart the kids and achieve the impossible- bring the family closer together!

Our Take:

I love family comedies, it just gives me a great reason to sit and relax and laugh with my family. So we got together, popped some popcorn, and enjoyed a family movie night together watching, Parental Guidance. The movie follows the zany exploits of a grandmother and grandfather that have to take care of 3 grandchildren, 12, 8 and 5.  I am a big Billy Crystal fan, he is great at all he does, and is naturally funny. Even though mistakes are made, they all learn from mistakes and learn to love each other more.

The film is based on experiences that Billy Crystal, and his wife, had while trying to follow the wishes of their children while babysitting their 2 granddaughters for five days. I know just how he must have felt, my parents had similar issues with my daughter, I could not imagine how it would have been for them with more kids! I remember when my parents watched my daughter years ago, and they let her eat nearly a full bowel of jello and whipped cream, even though I said no sweets, she was hyped up on sugar for a good while when she came home, see sometimes grandparents just do not listen to the parents’ wishes.

If you are in the mood to laugh, and if you are a parent or a grandparent, you will really appreciate Parental Guidance, or if you are a Billy Crystal fan this will be a movie you will love! Make sure to pick up a copy today.
