What do you pack in your kid’s day bag?

What do you pack in your kid’s day bag?
Heading out for a day trip as a family is a real treat, particularly when kids are young, but to pull it off with relative ease precision planning is sometimes required. Even when you’re heading out to a place like Disney – where you know facilities are likely to cater well for your needs - there are certain things you just can’t leave the house without.
Thankfully, a whole world of products have been created to help moms and dads execute day out fun at a level akin to a military parade from Mulan and one of the total must-haves, whatever the age of your children, is the ‘kid’s day bag’.

Days out with teeny tiny family members often require the most equipment and for this fashionable and discreet changing bags are a real godsend. Designers are catching on the fact parents don’t necessarily want to be lumbered with something ugly and cumbersome just because they need to pack 101 things into the bag and there are now far more fashion forward but practical designs including over sized handbags with padded straps that you can’t tell apart from a normal shopping or day bag.

This animal print number is a great fashion find.

Of course, the type of bag you choose will owe a lot to the items you and your children simply can’t go without, wherever you are. The age of your children will also have an impact on this. So, what are the items you can’t leave the house without? Alongside nappies, wipes, baby powder, nappy bags, bottle and formula, what do you pack in your bag to make sure everything goes smoothly? Is there a favorite toy that always puts stop to showers of tears? Or a small snack that you always pack to keep you all going between meals, rides or shows?
If you've reached the stage where you don’t need to take a changing kit with you, do you let your kids pack a few items into their own cute backpacks to help them feel more involved and teach them preparation? If so, what kind of things do they like to pop in there? Share your ideas below and let’s see if we can’t bring some peace to future trips through clever packing!
