Are you looking for a way to talk to your daughter about her
changing body now that she is entering the tween years? Well I would like to
suggest a great book from American Girl, “The Care & Keeping of you 2: The
body book for older girls,”.
In February 2013, American Girl will introduce “The Care
& Keeping of you 2: The body book for older girls,” the follow-up book from
“The Care & Keeping of you: The body book for girls,” written by
pediatrician Cara Natterson.
This book picks up on where the first one leaves off. It
focuses on the physical and emotional changes girls face, from age 10 and up.
This book also helps girls understand how the more mature them fits into the
changing world. This book is said to be great resource for girls to use when
faced with questions and concerns about their bodies.
“The Care & keeping of you 2: The body book for older
girls” contains information on topics such as:
* Your growing body and the keys to healthy development
* Hygiene Basics
* Female anatomy and the role of hormones in puberty
* Period basics
* Your changing brain
* Mood and stress management
* Body image and liking yourself
* Tips for starting conversations with parents and other trusted adults

My little girl is growing up so fast. What happened that
that little girl that would crawl all around the house and make a mess. Well
she still tends to make a mess, but now she is doing projects and art for
school. She is becoming such a mature little lady as she is entering her tween
years. It will soon come the time that I
will have to have the discussion with her about her changing body, and I am so
glad that I will have this great book to refer to, the book takes a younger
girl approach with colorful pictures showing all of the changes and helping
girls understand their new bodies, to embrace yourself and not to be afraid. I
wish I had a book like this when I was young it is very informative, and when
the time comes it will help my daughter a great deal.
If you have a young daughter that is coming to the age, this
is a great book to pick up you will be glad you did. The book is coming out
this month and is available for pre ordering on Amazon, and other book stores.
