My daughter takes after her mom, she just loves a good
scare. I was very fortunate to be able to check out The Shout Factory’s new dvd’s
R.L. STINE’S THE HAUNTING
HOUR: THE SERIES VOLUME
3 and VOLUME 4. My daughter and I had a nice mommy and daughter movie night. We
bought some candy and popped some popcorn shut off the lights and began the
scare fest! Now if some of you are not aware of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting
Hour:
The Series, it is kid friendly scary.. it can get a little scary but
it is in no way terrifying like adult horror films can be. My daughter and I enjoys the two dvd volume 3
and volume 4. Each dvd has 5 episodes. We especially loved My Sister The Witch
from volume 3. What would it be like to have a sister who is a witch? Well
scary and cool of course! Our favorite from volume 4 was Afraid Of Clowns this
episode was scary. I can understand why some people are afraid of clowns that’s
for sure. I loved the “A Look Behind the Screams” featurette, it was fun to see
how the shows were made a great extra. But overall we really loved these dvds and I
would recommend them.
The dvd arrive on
2/5/13 and retail for only $15.00 each. They are affordable and fun for the
kids. If you have a special little Valentine this would make a wonderful valentine’s
day surprise for that special someone.
These movies are
creepy but not horrifying. I would still recommend these shows for ages 8 and
up, any younger I think it would be a little to creepy for them, and I would
not want the little ones to have nightmares.
