Well I am taking a big step this year, and having
Thanksgiving for the first time at my home. Yes it is a big deal for us, and we
are so excited! I know it will be a big responsibility and I will have lots to
do but I love the challenge!
What will I be making for dessert (sure we will have the
needed pumpkin pie, my mother will be making that her specialty) I need
something very simple, since I will be in charge of the rest of the meal from
soup to nuts, dessert has to be easy to make for me this year. While sitting in
the house waiting for Hurricane Sandy to pass, I tested out an easy recipe from
Lucky Leaf, perhaps this will be my Thanksgiving dessert this year? Well let’s
try it out?
Ameretto Peach
Cobbler
2 21-ounce cans of Lucky Leaf Premium Peach Pie Filling
½ cup Amaretto
1 17.5-ounce package sugar cookie mix
1 cup sliced almonds
½ cup butter, cubed
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spread pie filling into an ungreased 13x9 inch baking dish.
Drizzle with Amaretto (if you choose, I omitted the amaretto)
Sprinkle cookie mix and almonds dot with butter
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until filling is
bubbly and topping is golden brown
Serve warm
Makes 15 servings
This was so very simple to make, honestly this was the
easiest dessert I have ever made! I omitted the amaretto, so my daughter could
have some, and I most likely will be omitting the amaretto for Thanksgiving as
well, because there will be a lot of kids and I am sure they will love this
dessert!
This was as simple as 1-2-3, open can, open cookie mix pouch,
top with almonds and butter, bake…. Wow, what easy steps. So how does this easy
dessert taste? Just like a homemade peach cobbler. This was delicious, my
husband and my daughter loved it and I will be making this for my guests this Thanksgiving,
and perhaps I will be bringing this to Christmas with my parents as well, I am
sure it will be a hit!
If you are looking for a recipe that is simple, but tastes
anything but simple I would recommend Lucky Leaf Peach cobbler, your family
will love it.

This sure looks delicious and easy to make, which is nice :) This would be really good with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
If you boil the amaretto first to remove the alcohol it would adds nice almind flavour.
The apple cobbler looks so delicious. I am going to bake this as soon as the real hot weather is over.
