SYNOPSIS

In this spectacular action-adventure, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) is Snow White, the only woman in the land fairer than the evil queen Ravenna (Oscar^® winner Charlize Theron). Ravenna wants nothing more than to destroy her young rival, but she doesn’t know that Show White has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) the queen dispatched to kill her. Together with a handsome prince (Sam Claflin) enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power, they assemble an armed force to recapture the kingdom. This breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders is, in the words of Shawn Edwards, Fox-TV, “A film that soars with creativity, stylistic genius and amazing battle scenes.”

Our Take:
 

Now when you think of Snow White, you may think of this is the perfect fairy tale a sweet girl who meets some loveable dwarves and then meets her prince and lives happily ever after. Great story right? Well I always thought this story would make a great action movie if this was ever remade.  Well this wild and entertaining action movie now exists, and Snow White and the Huntsman does not disappoint. I wanted to see this in the theaters, but we just could not get the timing right with the sitter, so I was very happy to be able to check this DVD  out.  This movie is a little too much for my seven year old so my husband and I had a little date night.

 Just a little time together to watch a movie.  This movie was chock full of great visual effects. Charlize Theron was amazing! She fit her role so perfectly. And Mr. Hemsworth, oh my, he could hunt me anytime! Ok back to the movie.. The storyline was a bit like your remembered like the classic. There are the dwarves, the evil queen an apple…  But this story was filled with so many other great moments. I do not want to spoil it for you all. But I really enjoyed this movie.  So if you are looking for a family friendly movie this may not be for you, but if you are looking for a movie that adults will be on the edge of their seats, and entertained the whole time I would recommend Snow White and the Huntsman, you will enjoy this great film.
