I consider myself an amateur photographer enthusiast. I have always loved taking pictures, I even went to school for photography for a short time. But with my hectic life I have been cutting back on the picture taking. I don’t know why, I am so relaxed and I just adore it when I am talking pictures. I take pictures of just about everything, whatever strikes my fancy. I especially  love taking pictures of my cat, Mittens. I just think he is so cute and looks great in pictures. But I think he could look better, I have never really mastered pet photos. There are some great tips in this book, my favorite tips are:

Pay your model

You wouldn't expect a human model to work for you without payment right? So why should you expect an animal to work without getting paid? Figure out what's the most appreciate item for payment. A toy, a treat, an old rag, a carrot- whatever it takes to keep them engaged and motivated.

Pay attention to backgrounds

Nothing can ruin a perfectly good photo better than ugly, cluttered backgrounds. Nobody needs to see that old garden hose, or your dirty sock on the floor, in an otherwise beautiful photo of Rupert the cat.

I never thought of giving my kitty Mittens a treat or a toy to keep him engaged, but that is a great idea. I was able to hold a little “photo session” with Mittens and he seemed to be better with the photos, he loved hanging around for the pictures. Perhaps this was because I bribed him with treats, but that sure worked.  Yes this book is also filled with amazing photos of all types of animals from birds to dogs and just about anything in-between and more.
