This Chick Bakes amazing sweets you will love!

If you are a fan of sweets, I have a great suggestion for you, This Chic Bakes a great New York City bakery that is run by Jen Houston and Charley Tucker, they have been making these super-duper morsels since 2003. Here is a little more information about the company from the website:

  As always our products are made from the finest stuff we can find. There are no Trans-fats, High fructose corn syrup (HFCS), artificial flavors or preservatives in any of our products. We use fresh ground peanut butter, Callibaut & guittard chocolates, organic teas, and pure extracts. We only make stuff that we would like to eat.

The folks at This Chick Bakes use no trans-fats, high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or preservatives their products. That is amazing! None of the bad stuff, just natural ingredients like the ones you would use when you bake. That is what makes the difference.

I love that this bakery bakes the cookies in small batches, and they carefully make each cookie. There are no industrial mass baking for the cookies, there are so assembly lines. Just old fashioned real bakers, who love what they do, and what you to love it too. I think cookies taste better when they are homemade, and when cookies are baked by real people they taste just like they would (better even) if I made them at home.

I am a huge cookie fan, to me they are the ultimate sweet treat, cookies remind me of growing up and simpler times. They just make me happy. I was very fortunate to be able to review an assortment of goodies from This Chick Bakes, including:

Now I know what you may be thinking these are some great sounding cookies. Unique and full of flavor.  But please tell me more about each! I know you must know, so my husband, my daughter and I took on the tough role of taste testers for these divine looking cookies. I know it is a tough job but someone has to do it, right?

Let start at the beginning with the Raisin Coconut Oat cookie, this cookie was filled with plump juicy raisins, coconut and drizzled in chocolate. My hubby is not a fan of coconut, but he agreed to give the cookie a try and he thought it was pretty good. I liked the sweetness of the raisins, and the chocolate coating was a nice touch. If you are a fan of oatmeal cookies this is the cookie you have been looking for, it was fantastic.

Mojito cookie, now I was curious to try this cookie. I love the mojito drinks, it is one of the few drinks that I love, the mint just goes so well with the rum, and when I treat myself to a drink a mojito is the drink I choose. So how would this work in a cookie?  Even before you ate the cookie, you could just smell the mint.. mmmm… I loved the taste of the cookie, it had just the right amount of mint flavor, and sweetness. I know what you may be thinking mint in a cookie… yuck! Well that is what I thought before I tried it, the mint in the cookie is amazing and they really do work well together (even though it may not sound like they do).

Peanut Butter Blast, now this was the ultimate peanut butter treat. If you are a fan of peanut butter cups, well meet your ultimate dream treat, the peanut butter blast was wonderful. Just the right amount of peanut butter, and chocolate. This is a large cup that is a great size to share, even though my husband tried to take it all for himself. No you don’t we all have to try it, so he shared. My daughter and I loved this too, the best peanut butter cup ever!

Brown Butter Salted Chunk cookie, salt and sweet that is a perfect combo. I just love the new trend of salty caramel and chocolate. This cookie was divine and works so well in this cookie. My husband and I split this cookie and we loved the soft chocolate cookie with a salty edge to it. Wow what a punch of flavor. This was my favorite cookie of them all.

Chocolate Fudge Brownie, a soft brownie that is full of chocolate chunks, yes a chocolate lovers dream. Just pop this in the microwave for a few seconds then enjoy the lightly warm gooey brownie goodness. Oh my you could not believe how good this is. You simply must try this.

Green Tea Lemon cookie, my husband tried to claim this cookie too, he is a big lemon fan. The cookie was very unique you could really taste the lemon and the green tea, this was a light cookie that would be great with tea.

Overall I was very impressed with This Chick Bakes, the cookies were packed well and arrived in wonderful condition (even though it was 95++ degrees when this was delivered). I loved the blue and brown spotted and striped paper that the cookies were packaged with. These cookies would make a great gift, they come boxed and ready for gift giving.

I love to visit NYC, I think it is one of the best cities in the world, and I will be planning a trip soon. You know I will be checking out This Chick Bakes when I am there, they have multiple NYC locations that sell these great cookies.  I will be sure to pick up a dozen (or two.. don’t judge : )

So if you are looking for a great sweet every day treat or for a special occasion or gift I would highly recommend the cookies and brownies from This Chick Bakes.  I am sure that special someone would love fresh baked cookies that are made with love! And in flavors that are amazing, and some of the flavors I could never imagine making but would love love love to try, I am sure you would love them too.
