I knew from past experience that if you want
things at SWW you need to get up and out early and not the hour or so Disney
mentions you need to be out EARLY, I woke up about 3:45 a.m. and was out
heading to get my cab by 4 a.m. When I got to the Studios I was amazed at the
people there already, the line for Ray Park's fast pass was long, when I met
him in 2010 I arrived in the 3:30 a.m.ish range and was 5th in line now I would
have been in the late 20s to 30s! I was there for merchandise and got in the
merch line and had close to 40 people in front of me, thankfully everyone here
were veterans so things so smoothly if you need to get out of line to go to the
bathroom the people around you will hold your spot and not cause a fit when you
come back.
It was nice, I brought my Zune with me to keep me company but I didn't need it because you also usually strike up conversations with your line mates which I did and that helped pass the time. We were given merch bracelets and let into Darth's Mall at 7 a.m. a full hour before park opening to keep the crowd manageable. That was nice, I spent close to an hour in the "Maul" and bought all sorts of nerdy goodies some that were limited and some that were not, either way they mash up Star Wars and Disney and I'm looking to give someone my money to let me buy stuff. I met my wife and daughter a little after 8 I was camped out under an umbrella sitting, I had been on my feet for over 4 hours by then and I needed a little break!
Once they were in the park we headed on over to Toy Story for fastpasses and I was surprised to see no line for FPs but our return time wasn't at 10 p.m.! We went from getting our FPs to seeing about meeting some characters and the first one we got in line for was Jedi Mickey but he wouldn't be around long and was soon replaced with Minnie Princess Leia that totally made our daughter's day since she was dressed as Leia too!
Minnie made a fuss over her and the both struck a pose, it was funny to see because when around us we can't get her to keep quiet but when around other's our daughter goes into a shell and gets all shy, so it was funny to see her playing along. We made our way to Star Tours and would up finally seeing a destination other than Coruscant we wound up getting attacked by large fish on Naboo and I must say that it was fun being shaken all around like a ragdoll. I'm still waiting to see the Death Star so I can finally see Boba Fett! We'll get into the Fett's a little later.
