My Review:

So here we are in the last of the lazy hazy days of summer, and my daughter is running out of things to do. She did not go to camp this year, well grand mom and pops house was “camp” this year. The early summer days were filled with things to do but as the summer ends, it seems like my daughter has done everything. And playing outside is fun, but we have been in the middle of a heat wave here in the Northeast so going outside, that is not going to happen for a bit it is just way too hot.  And I don’t want her to just focus in on playing video games or watching television for the rest of the summer, that is no good.

My daughter was very fortunate to be able to review a few sets from Creative Playthings, and they couldn’t have come at a better time! She really loves these kits. She was fortunate to be able to try, Deluxe Glitter Art, Gnome Garden, and Feather Fashions.

The Gnome Garden was so cute! I love to garden, but I am just no good at it. For some reason I seem to have a black thumb instead of a green thumb, my plants seem to die, rather than thrive. Well this I attribute from never really having a grass yard, having a “garden” in the city is hard, and I can’t seem to master it. And I want to make sure my daughter has better luck with plants than I have. The gnome kit came with all that was needed from the dirt, to the seeds and even the little gnomes that you could use to decorate your garden. My daughter had fun with this kit, she really seems to love gardening, and I hope she does not take after me and is much better at gardening than I am.  I think the kit turned out well, I love the little gnomes, and we are patiently waiting for the sprouts to come. I love that this kit will give my daughter responsibilities, she is very attentive to the planter, she makes sure it is moist and getting the right amount of light.

My daughters absolute favorite kit was the Feather Fashionskit, she is a little diva and when she has the chance to make her own accessories, she just could not wait to start making some fabulous things.  My daughter and I both made accessories for each other, I made a great hair clip that I think looks super cute. And my daughter made a bunch of accessories and here is a peek into the fun we had with this kit. There is still so much more fun to have, the kit makes 12 + accessories!

 

The Deluxe Glitter art kit, was indeed a deluxe kit, filled with any kid of glitter art you could imagine. My daughter made, glitter vases for her grand mom, and she made a great glitter rainbow picture.  Note to self, make sure to put down a table cloth next time we play with the kit.  We will have glitter in the kitchen for a good while, but we all had lots of fun so that is ok. These are not the kind of kits you get at the dollar store that are filled with junk. The kits were all filled to the brim with accessories, and are quality kits, and they are a lot of fun!

What I love most about the Deluxe Glitter kit and the Feather kit is, there are not one and done kits, you can go back and make new things again and again. My daughter is looking forward to her next play date, when she will play with the kits with her little friends. Hours of endless fun in one kit, that is a great deal.

These kits would also make great after school or weekend projects why let the kids just hang around when they could be using their imagination and having fun doing some great crafts from Faber-Castell. I highly recommend the kits I tried, and I would love to get more for my daughter in the future.  There are all kinds of kits available, that would be great for boys and girls.
