When Nord Brue and Mike Dressell started Bruegger's in 1983, they actually founded the retail bagel concept. Up until that point, bagels were considered mostly an ethnic food and were not known much outside of New York. At that time, less than one-third of Americans had ever tasted a bagel!

From their home base in Burlington, Vermont, Brue and Dressell pioneered a new concept that expanded the tr

additional bagel bakery into a quick service bakery with premium specialty cream cheeses, custom-made sandwiches, signature soups and exceptional coffee. They worked with a professional bagel baker from New York City for 2 1/2 years to perfect their recipe and baking process.

Today, more than 25 years after the first Bruegger's opened in Troy, New York, there are about 300 Bruegger's in 26 states and the District of Columbia, with more on the way!

Have you ever tried Bruegger's for breakfast or lunch? Well if you haven’t you have been missing out. Sure you may know Bruegger's for great coffee and catering but they are so much more than that! Bruegger's has an amazing amount of mouthwatering freshly baked bagels. I just love the specialty bagels, the tomato pesto bagel is amazing!

They also have some great cream cheese flavors to go along with your bagel, from Strawberry cream cheese to Wasabi they will have something you love! They have breakfast available all day.

I just love the 500 calorie menu, you can get your bagel “skinny” a thinner bagel with low fat cream cheese. This is a great way to get that bagel  you have been craving and for only 500 calorie’s or less!

I treated myself to a Jalapeno cheddar bagel, with turkey topped with avocado. Bruegger's has avocado for the summer season. For only .75 you can add some fresh avocado to your sandwich.

The sandwich was fresh and well made, the attendants made sure I got exactly what I wanted and were very friendly. I just love how I feel when I eat at a Bruegger's, you are always made to feel like a special customer. I took notice that the cashier greeted many of the customers by name, it was nice to see that she took the time to remember the return customers.

So I know you are asking how was the sandwich was delicious! The spiciness of the Jalapeno, and the coolness of the avocado went very well together. I will surely be back, for breakfast and lunch!

Well you need something great to drink with lunch right? Well I enjoyed a Kahlua iced coffee(no there is no real alcohol in it, I was at work :) and the Kahlua taste was great! It was a way to get away if only for my lunch hour. So if you are looking for a great place for coffee, breakfast and lunch I would highly recommend Bruegger's.
