Well here we are at week 40 Nutrisystem.
Here are some great tips for a great BBQ season, courtesy of
Nutrisystem, I love the tops especially the water tip #7
(1.) — Having a barbeque is a great idea for a summertime
social gathering, but more importantly helps to feature a healthy style of
cooking – grilling!
(2.) – Bring your “BBQ-esque” Nutrisystem meal of
choice – Nutrisystem’s hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs are great on the grill!
That way you still feel part of the BBQ eating festivities while staying on
program.
(3.) — Choice of rolls: definitely go with whole-wheat as it
gives you and all your guests a healthy option and more nutrition than the
normal white rolls.
(4.) — Following the guidelines of your Nutrisystem grocery
guide: create a garden salad with all your favorite vegetables with various low
fat and/or low sodium salad dressings on the side — 2 tbsp of fat free dressing
count as 1 extra. That way everyone can choose what dressing is best for them,
but also allows you to get your add-in grocery additions while on
program.
(5.) — Grill some
vegetables on the BBQ: another great way to get in your Nutrisystem grocery
addition.
(6.) — Try to steer
away from items drenched with BBQ sauce as this will only add in extra calories
and is typically high in sugar and sodium.
(7.) — Make sure to have iced water and/or unsweetened iced
tea on hand to stay hydrated – toss in some slices of citrus fruits (i.e.
oranges, lime and lemons) or even cucumbers too. This makes it different and is
quite refreshing!
(8.) — For dessert you can have your Nutrisystem dessert
with the group, but also have a healthy option such as fruit salad or fruit
kabobs for you and your guests. The kids can even help with making them.
So how am I doing this BBQ season? Well pretty good, great in
fact.
I am in the home stretch, I can’t believe it I can see home
base and I am ready to slide in. I have one more week on the program, then I
will be in maintain mode. Make sure to check back soon, I will be holding a contest

I am amazed that I am still losing weight, even though birthday
parties, graduation parties and cookouts! I am going on a short road trip soon,
I just hope to keep up the good work. I am concerned because with a road trip there
are constant stops at truck stops (well I need to drink a lot of water, and
must visit the little girls room a lot) and there are so many items that just
call to me. Going on this program I wondered if bad food would stop “calling me”
and I see that this will be something I will have to live with I still have
urges to eat the bad junky food, and I will have to learn to always contain
those urges.
