Film Synopsis: The Princess Diaries Mia Thermopolis is the average teenager - sweet, a little geeky and pretty much invisible to everyone with the exception of her mother, best friend Lilly and Lilly's older brother Michael. Making it through high school without throwing up is a challenge in itself for Mia, so it doesn't come as welcome news when her estranged grandmother shows up out of the blue and calmly informs her that she is in fact the heir to the throne of a European country called Genovia. Suddenly Mia's life is thrown into complete overload. She's being taught about scarves, waves and pears in order to become a perfect princess, she gets a makeover and a tough looking yet sweet bodyguard/limo driver called Joe. Things get out of hand when the media gets a hold of the story and suddenly Mia is thrust into the spotlight in both thenewspapers and in school. On top of all that Mia has a choice to make. Our Take:

I cannot believe that Princess Diaries came out 10 years ago, wow time really fly’s! I remember seeing the original The Princess Diaries ten years ago.  What a dream it would be to find out that I was a Princess, a life changing dream. Living in a land of luxury, living in a castle having a grown, what a great thing that would be!  Being a princess has its up’s and downs as we learn from The Princess Diaries, Mia has some great highs and lows on the journey on becoming a princess.

My daughter and my husband had never seen this Disney movie duo. So the other day we had a family movie night, we ordered some pizza and popped some popcorn and cozied up on the couch and got ready to watch The Princess Diaries double feature, 2 disk Blu-Ray  the includes: The Princess Diaries and  The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement

I really liked these two movies, they were funny and beautify shot. For those who think this movie is just for kids, well it is not I am 30+ and I enjoyed watching Mia’s journey. My daughter also loved the films she said maybe she is really a princess? Well sweetie, I don’t think so but you never know : )

Some of the things Mia had to go through, I really never though a princess had to do.. I don’t want to give too much away, but with these great movies you will laugh, and cry, you will just plain enjoy yourself. Just like as you should when you watch a great family movie. So if you are looking for a feel good movie that the whole family can enjoy I would recommend The Princess Diaries and  The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement
