Keep Track of Everything You Eat
It is very important to keep track of everything you eat. Even if you just have a small bite of chocolate cake, write it down in your notebook. Writing down everything you eat will let you know how many calories you are actually eating each day. Those small bites of cake you eat every few days can really add up.
Don’t Skip Breakfast
Skipping breakfast is one of the worst things you can do. If you don’t eat breakfast, you will be much more hungry later on in the day, causing you to overeat. Eating a healthy breakfast in the morning will speed up your metabolism and help you make healthier food choices throughout the day. Make sure your breakfast meal is filled with protein and vitamins. For example, you can eat a bowl of oatmeal with a piece of fruit.
Limit Your Alcohol Intake
If you are trying to watch your weight, you should definitely limit your intake of alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is high in calories and can slow down your metabolism. Drinking alcohol can also make you feel sluggish, which can prevent you from getting your workouts done.
Keep Your Stress Levels Under Control
It’s perfectly normal to be stressed about your wedding. You want to make sure everything is just right on your special day. If you tend to eat when you are stressed, you may pack on some extra weight. Try to keep your stress levels under control to prevent this from happening. When you start to feel stressed, talk to a friend, go for a walk or take a warm bath.
Start Your Day With Exercise
The best time to exercise is in the morning. Exercising in the morning will speed up your metabolism and give you more energy throughout the day. Plan to go for a walk or jog around your neighborhood after you wake up.
Avoid Fad Diets
If you want to lose weight very quickly, you might be tempted to try a fad diet. If you go on a fad diet, you might lose weight quickly, but you will likely gain it back soon. If a diet sounds too good to be true, you should stay away from it. Instead of restricting heavily, control your portion sizes.
Don’t Deprive Yourself
If you are trying to watch your weight, you might think that you should avoid unhealthy foods altogether. Although your diet should consist of mostly nutritious foods, it is okay to have occasionally have a hamburger or piece of cake. Once a week, give yourself a treat. If you deprive yourself of the foods you love, you will be more likely to crave them.
Have a Good Support System
Having a good support system can make it easier to stay fit for your wedding. Tell all your friends and family members that you want to get in shape for your wedding. Do not hesitate to ask them for support. For example, you can ask your family members to keep junk food out of the house. Also, ask one of your friends to work out with you. Exercising with someone else can make your workouts less tedious.
Do not Eat Late At Night
One of the best ways to keep your metabolism up is to avoid eating late at night. If you eat late at night, your body won’t have a chance to burn off the food. Try not to eat anything after 7 p.m.
Don’t Let Yourself Get Too Hungry
It’s important to never let yourself get too hungry; doing so can cause you to eat anything to settle your hunger pangs. If you start to feel a little hungry before a meal, eat a healthy snack. A few almonds or a piece of fruit can make you feel much better.
If you follow the tips above, you should not have any issues staying fit for your wedding. If you feel like skipping your workout or eating something unhealthy, remember what your goals are. Looking fit on your wedding day is more important than eating a piece of cake.
