Rubbermaid, Hidden Recycler – Review (And a Giveaway)

My family has been big fans of Rubbermaid products for many years, they are sturdy and well made. I expect nothing but the best of Rubbermaid products, and I have never been disappointed.

For more than 70 years, the Rubbermaid® brand represents innovative, high-quality products that help simplify life. From its original line of simple, durable housewares, Rubbermaid has developed a major presence in a wide array of categories ranging from home and garden to seasonal and commercial products. Recognized as a “Brand of the Century”, Rubbermaid is one of only 100 companies named as having an impact on the American way of life.

When I had the chance to review the hidden recycler from Rubbermaid I was so excited! We are avid recyclers, we recycle repourpose and reuse as much as we can. We believe that having a smaller carbon footprint is so very important. So we try to do our part to help mother earth.

I try to be organized, but it is sometimes difficult as a working mother it is hard to have the perfect house and do it all. But I try.

Here are some of the great features of the Hidden Recycler.

  • Hinged lid attaches to cabinet door with over the door hooks or screws
  • Bag is made from 65% post-consumer resin
  • Bag is machine washable
  • Comfortable handle for transport
  • 5 gallon bag holds 36 uncrushed cans and is large enough to fit 1 gallon milk jugs
  • Great for single stream recyclers
  • Great for apartment living

This is also great for small houses like ours, living in the city can have its perks, great city life, being close to lots of things. But you usually have to give up the size of your house, there are not many big houses around here and that is just how it is. So you have to get used to smaller spaces, and manage the space you have well.  The hidden recycler seemed to have been made for my house.

The Hidden very easy to install simple step process, I am no handy man by any stretch of the imagination and I was able to install this with ease, so if I can do it you will have no problems installing this at all.

I love the ease of use of the recycler, it keeps my recycling in check, and it helps my kitchen to look cleaner. The last recycling bag I was using was a store plastic bag hanging on the door knob. Not very attractive I must say. But with the hidden recycler from Rubbermaid, I have the idea place to recycle and still have a neat and tidy kitchen. I love it!

And the bag being machine washable is a great thing, I have used this and washed it and it comes out just like new after being washed.  I would recommend this little gem to any recycler would like a little neater looking kitchen, this works great!

The great folks at Rubbermaid are offering one of Susan’s Disney Family readers a chance to win a Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler of their own. Rubbermaid Home Products are not treated with flame- retardants and most will burn. They are household products and have not been submitted to any agency for flammability testing or certification. Most will melt at temperatures between 260 and 320 degrees Fahrenheit and will self-ignite at about 600 degrees Fahrenheit.

Food scraps: certain food waste can go into a composter (which could be located under the kitchen sink) and the results can be used later to help fertilize your garden soil. With other food products, choose a covered Rubbermaid Step-on Waste Can with its innovative easy-to-use step-on mechanism.
