I love salami; I love it to the point where I would go to a deli near my office and often buy a pound of it for lunch. Gluttonous? Yes, no question. Delicious? Absolutely! I know salami, that’s why when my wife told me that she received salami from Columbus Salame I was giddy with anticipation of sinking my teeth into them.
We received 3 different types of salami: pepper, Italian dry and Toscano style. I’m a lot less gluttonous now, I no longer eat pounds of lunch meat for lunch, I watch what I eat and have learned to eat things in moderation. It’s been a rough go for me to just cut a piece here and there, I want to sit down and just gnaw at the salami until it’s no more. This is some seriously delicious salami!
The peppered salami has a kick like a donkey; this is hot and wickedly awesome. I love spicy things and this salami certainly fills that role but be warned it isn’t for the faint of heart your nose will be runny and you will want a drink near you to help. But it’s soooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. The Italian dry salami is more of a traditional tasting salami, it’s kind of like Genoa in a way but not quite. It’s a nice dry salami so after you’re done eating it you don’t have oily salami fingers that normally come with eating salami. The Toscano salami is a leaner salami with just a little bite, it’s a wonderful tasting salami and is my daughters personal favorite.
All in all I’m stoked to have been able to try the salami from Columbus Salame, I’ve spent all my life eating and enjoying salami and to be able to try different flavored salami’s has opened my eyes to a whole new world of flavors. I told my wife Valentine’s day is coming up and instead of chocolate I might just buy sticks of salami! What better way to say I love you then with cured meat? It’s the gift that keeps on giving.
