Rufus Teague Sauces - Review

 Rufus Teague (http://www.rufusteague.com/) made some sauce and put some in a jar…. Thank you Rufus! We discovered this gem of a bbq sauce a few months ago while wandering around what I like to refer to as the dirt mall. It’s not a mall per se but more of a combo flea market/farmers market. But it has interesting people and earthy aromas and along with the oddities and interesting smells we find there we also discovered Rufus Teague’s sauce.

We walked into a sauce/spice shop and began browsing, on a table in the middle of the store was a sampling table and one of the bottles I picked up was Rufus Teague’s Touch o’ Heat sauce, I poured a little onto a chip and was blown away by what I was tasting. Wow… This is a sauce that the world needs to know about. I picked up 2 bottles and within 2 week’s they were empty. 

Thankfully the nice people at Rufus Teague sent me a care package to help me try the other great flavors/sauces they have available.  We received a couples bbq sauces and a couple meat sauces. Touch o’ Heat bbq sauce has a nice little kick it’s not too bad and pretty much anyone can handle this sauce. Now for those who are a little braver there is Blazin’ Hot bbq sauce and let me tell you this sauce packs a nice kick. If you’re a little sleepy in the morning and need a quick pick me up forget the coffee just put a little of this sauce on your finger and you will be wide awake! It’s a good heat, not just a hot heat which I hate, I like heat but I like flavorful heat and this is flavorful heat at its best.

The meat sauces are like steak sauces on steroids. Spicy and flavorful and puts A1 to shame. It’s like a masterful combination of a steak sauce with a bbq sauce, it has such a nice heat kick that you don’t normally expect from your tradition steak sauce it really enhances what you put it on. And I’ve been putting these sauces on just about everything! If you like good bbq sauce believe me you will totally love Rufus Teague’s sauce.
