One subzero night in 1998 during my first semester of college I could not escape Maine's winter bite. While watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien I decided I needed to tear a hole in my sleeping bag so I could keep my upper body warm as I channel surfed during the commercial breaks. During Christmas vacation I commissioned the first Slanket to be made by my mother...and it was born.

Everyone behind The Slanket is on the same level when it comes to life. Besides creating a product to make people comfortable and warm, our life goals are not to accumulate mansions, SUV's, expensive watches and closets just for shoes. What we want in life is to travel the world and experience all its cultures while representing humanity positively. Whether surfing in Costa Rica, snowboarding in Austria, or studying language in South America and China, we love to spread our sleeves and let them flap in the wind, giving back in the process. BUT... there is nothing like coming home, wrapping up in The Slanket on your own couch and feeling the warmth of your friends and family.

My Review:

When you think about it you realize just how ingenious it is, a blanket with sleeves! Why didn’t I think of that? The Slanket (http://www.theslanket.com/) is a great way to keep warm and have access to your arms. I’ve seen competitors in stores and when you feel them they feel cheap and shoddy. The Slanket is a really well made blanket, it’s heavy and warm and does it’s job well.

I love my Slanket, and it’s been well used, I know people have made fun of blanket with sleeves I just roll my eyes when I hear snarky comments. I’m constantly cold I’m always looking for ways to get warm and the Slanket is the perfect choice. I can be relaxing on the couch watching TV and enjoying a cup of coffee and I don’t have to worry about moving the blanket to let my arm free to drink because my arm is already free!

It’s big and comfy, it’s actually big enough for two adults to snuggle together under the blanket, it’s that roomy. It’s something I never put away it’s always on my couch ready to be used at a moment’s notice. The Slanket is amazingly simple yet brilliant. My daughter just loves my slanket, but is it a bit big for her, but lucky for her they also have kids sized Slankets so she just may be getting one under the tree this year!
