Our family of four moved to Celebration, Florida in 2006. Memories by Betsy was established in 2007 when a friend who was leaving the area asked me to continue the Gift Basket business. Since then, I've created thousands of baskets and gifts for clients from all over the world. I truly enjoy working with clients to create the perfect gift for family and friends. My Review:
As I sit here in the Port Orleans French Quarter, I can’t help but wonder how exactly I got here. I mean just 2 months ago I was in the Disneyland Hotel and was telling my husband it’ll be weird that this will be the first time in 6 years that we will not be going to Disney World; he assured me he would finagle his way into getting to Disney World before the calendar turned to 2012. My husband is a good finageler, he always finds some way to convince me into letting him get his way, normally it’s a TV but this time it was a somewhat last minute trip to WDW.
Part of his concession was that we could stay at the Port Orleans and not the Poly *GASP*! For my husband that’s a big thing, ever since we set foot in the Poly on our honeymoon he was in love with that resort. He went from a staunch All Star Resorter “It’s just a room!” he’d always say to an absolute resort snob. Once you go deluxe it’s hard to go back, the ease of the monorail loop is nice, the bigger rooms are nice, the food options are many, the themed pools are great etc. And if you ask my husband the smell of the Poly is worth the price of admission.
But this trip no Poly, we stayed at PORFQ last June for Star Wars weekend and decided that’s where we would stay on this current trip. We love the theming, we love visiting New Orleans and this gives us a good New Orleans vibe, plus it’s fun to say we were in the real French Quarter and the Imagineered one within a a few months of each other!
With this trip I wanted to do something a little more special for my daughter, she’ll be starting first grade in a couple of weeks she’s getting so big too fast! What to do for a kid who has become used to going to Disney World? We had to change our flight due to Hurricane Irene and arrived a day earlier than planned, we walked into our room and sitting on the table was my daughter’s gift basket! That’s the kind of service you really don’t find too often anymore, we had a change of plans and I was expecting to see the basket on Saturday but Betsy got the basket to us for our arrival. I was floored! And so was our daughter! She couldn’t wait to get into the basket and see what she got.
She went from zombie like to being wide awake in the span of 5 seconds. Her eye’s just about bugged out of her skull when she saw the plush Ariel, she loves Ariel and this basket was all about Ariel. Along with her new plush Ariel was the rubber dress up Ariel, she LOVES these dolls, we just bought the Rapunzel set while in Disneyland and adding Ariel to the collection almost gives her a complete set. These dolls keep her occupied for hours, she changes all the dresses and shoe’s and mixes up all the Princesses so they’re wearing each other’s dresses. She begged us to open in, but it was after midnight and we had to pry them out of her hands and try to get her to sleep. And who did she sleep with? Her new plush Ariel, she’s also brought Ariel with her to Magic Kingdom and Epcot so far, Ariel really enjoyed Test Track we could tell that by the smile on her face.

Expect quality when you order a basket from Betsy. Along with her Ariel goodies my daughter received princess mouse ears with her name embroidered on them a princess autograph book and matching pen and the Epcot passport. We had a fun time going to all the Kidcot Fun Stops and collecting the stamps and having my daughter’s name written in Chinese, Japanese and Arabic (Morocco). She loves seeing her name written in something other than English and it’s been a neat learning experience because she gets the opportunity to talk to all the Cast Members at each country so the exposure to other cultures has sparked an interest in her and she’s been asking about every country she walked in to. And it helped her walk around the World Showcase without complaining about getting tired she couldn’t wait to get to the next pavilion.
So along with all of the fun she’s having with the toys she’s learning about all the countries due to the passport. I couldn’t be more happy with this basket, it was a hit and I would whole heartedly recommend a Memories by Betsy basket, Betsy is great to work with and ordering a basket is a breeze. Each basket is custom made for you, you can tell Betsy what character/characters you love and she will send you a breakdown of what will be put in the basket and a price. If you would like something taken out of the basket, or something added, just let Betsy know. And after the basket list is agreed upon Betsy will send you an invoice via paypal and if you would like she will also send you a picture of your basket (we wanted to be surprised) and then when you get to your hotel while on vacation the basket will arrive. If it’s your first trip or your one hundredth trip memories are always there to be made and this is a great way to start. What better way to start off a great vacation?
