About Opa Cove (from the website)
Opa Cove™ launched in 2009, after years of careful planning. We’re a small, happy company of very fluid thinkers based in Eugene, Oregon. We have deep ties overseas, to ensure high quality and reliable manufacture. And we’re deeply committed to safety, as you’ll learn by exploring this website.Opa Cove’s official mission:
“To enhance family life and create products that foster family interaction, children’s safety, and fun.”
By the way, we picked the name Opa because that’s what the ancient Greek mariners yelled when they were having a good time. And everybody knows that a sheltered Cove is the best place to swim. Good times and safe harbor.
That’s our bottom line.
Sea Squirts Life Jackets have a sturdy, grab-me fin and durable neoprene outer with tech fabric liner.
They’re nice and comfy against the skin. Easy to zip and clip.
Shipshape enough to qualify as a ski vest or wake-boarding vest and U.S. Coast Guard certified as a United Type III Personal Flotation Device.
In short, they’re built from top to bottom so kids can float happily through childhood.
My Review:
My daughter fancies herself the female version of Michael Phelps (although much shorter and waaay prettier!) She likes the think she can swim, she has no fear in the water but she also doesn’t have that much skill yet. We have floaties for her arms but she hates wearing them, they’re not comfortable and they restrict her movement. Water noodles are fun but aren’t the sturdiest things in the water, if it were to slip out from under her we would have a horrible situation.
Thankfully, Opa Cove (http://www.opacove.com/) is there with a solution. They sent us a Killa Whale Life Jacket, and a Dolphin life jacket not only will it help my daughter play in the water it will make me feel confident that she is safe. And on top of it all it has a fin on the back, my daughter thinks she’s a shark; I’m not going to tell her she’s a dolphin! This is a great jacket, made well and it looks good, the fin is a nice touch, kids can pretend they’re predators when in the water….cue John Williams music here… From dolphins, to whales, clown fish and sharks they have the underwater universe covered. The cost of the life jacket is $69.95, you can’t put a cost on the life of your child’s safety, if you have a pool or spend any amount of time in the water you have to protect your children and the vests from Opa Cove do just that.
