Snooks Candies - Review (And a Giveaway)

Snook's Candies - A 3rd generation family of candy makers. Established in 1963 by John and Jeannine Snook (you can still see them helping out in the store!) Jim & Renee Snook are owners and operators of Snook’s Chocolate Factory. We are the second generation in a family of candy makers with more than four decades of dedication to producing superior confections including the finest chocolates, truffles, & brittles. 

Nestled in the heart of Historic Folsom, California is our kitchen, factory, and store where our candy is made fresh daily. This store is actually a Chocolate Factory “on-view” to the public.  We have only one location and it’s in the heart of Historic “Old Town” Folsom. We believe bigger is not better...it is what makes our products exceptional. 

My review: 

We were sent a box of mixed honeycomb chocolate dipped candy from Snooks (http://snookscandies.com/honeycomb-candy-seafoam-chocolate.aspx). We never had honeycomb candy before and I was intrigued by it so I was excited to try it. The box arrived and it just looked like high quality candy, if it tasted half as good as it looked I would have been happy. It exceeded its looks. We have been missing out! This isn’t just good, it’s amazing. I normally like to share chocolate with my parents and my in-laws and sometimes the people I work with to get several different opinions. I was given direct orders from my husband that if I give away any of this chocolate he would get a lawyer and file for divorce!

I thought he only got this excited for cinnamon! We had a mix of milk and dark chocolate dipped honeycombs, I thought the dark would sit untouched, dark chocolate is usually too bitter for our tastes. My husband said he’d eat the dark so we could review it properly, he looked at me after biting into it and said are you sure this is dark chocolate? I assured him it was, he swore up and down this can’t be dark it’s too good. I tried one for myself and was floored at how good their dark chocolate is, it’s amazingly good and not bitter, this truly is THE BEST dark chocolate we’ve ever had the pleasure of eating.

The honeycomb or violet crumble is a very unique candy, it’s got a crunch but it’s not like biting into a brick. It’s a nice change of pace, I love peanut butter but it’s been done, and the same for marshmallows  although good it’s been done. This honeycomb is new and different for us and we are happy to have had the opportunity to try these decadently delicious treats.
