Newman's Own Organics Review - (And a Giveaway)

Newman's Own is a food company that was founded by Paul Newman in 1982. The company makes all-natural salad dressing, pasta sauce, salsa, lemonade and steak sauce.
Newman's Own Organics was founded in 1993 by Paul Newman's daughter, Nell Newman, as a division of Newman's Own. It became a separate company in late 2000. Their motto is "Great Tasting Products That Happen to Be Organic." Their products include organic pretzels, cookies, popcorn, chocolate bars, peppermint cups, peanut butter cups, olive oil and vinegar, dried fruit, fair trade coffee and pet food.

I was very lucky to be able to test a ton of great organic food including:

• 2 Bags of Soy Crisps (BBQ and Cinnamon Sugar)
• 2 Bags of Dried Fruit (Apples & Cranberries)
• 3 Packages of Newman O’s (Like Oreos, Original, Ginger and Chocolate)
• 3 Bags of Champion Chip Cookies (Espresso Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chocolate Chip and Double Chocolate Mint Chip)
• 3 bags of Pretzels (Regular, Mighty Mini and Honey Wheat Mini)
• 2 packages of Fig Newmans (similar to Fig Newtons,  Fat Free and Low Fat)
• 4 Packages of Licorice (Strawberry, Tangerine, Pomegranate and Black)
• 1 Bag of Alphabet Cookies (Chocolate)
• 2 Packages of Hermits (made with raisins and molasses, and cinnamon hermits)
• 4 Packages Breath Mints (Ginger, Cinnamon, Peppermint and Wintergreen)
• 6 Chocolate Bars (Milk Chocolate, Mocha Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Orange Dark Chocolate, Espresso Dark Chocolate and Super Dark Chocolate)

without drastically altering one’s life. Packed with facts, anecdotes, humor,

and a heavy dose of sanity, it is organized around the way people actually live,

allowing readers to easily identify what areas of change are viable for them.

The sale of Newman’s Own® Organics products generates money for the

Newman’s Own Foundation to give away. Since 1982 Paul Newman and the

Newman’s Own Foundation have donated more than $300 million dollars

to educational and charitable organizations worldwide.

My Review: 

We recently had the opportunity to sample a selection of products from Newman’s Own Organics (http://www.newmansownorganics.com.) What a selection the sent us! We got to sample pretty much every product they have, I can’t review them all because it would take me forever! My entire family are now big fans of Newman's Own Organics, at a family get together I was able to share the goodies above. And my family was quite impressed with the cookies, the chocolate was also a huge hit! Pretty much everything was sampled and loved.

It was amazing how many items! Newman's Organics has cookies, coffee, oils, to pet food! So what I did was pick a few products that we loved the most and I will talk about them.

Newman O’s Chocolate Crème Filled Chocolate Cookies. They bear a striking resemblance to Oreo’s and taste quite good. “Dunlop O’s” as my husband calls them in honor of Paul Newman’s character Reggie Dunlop in the movie Slap Shot, are delicious. We had received 3 bags Original, Chocolate and Ginger. My husband ate all the ginger cookies before we had a chance to try them let alone take a picture of the package! So to say these cookies are tasty is an understatement. They are every bit as good as an Oreo.

Newman’s Own Dried Apples. My daughter loved these. We had to pry the bag out of her hands to get a taste. These are very good apples we also received a bag of cranberries which were equally as good. I’m always looking for something healthy for her to snack on after school before dinner and these apples are the perfect item. They’re tasty and a better alternative than chips.

Newman’s Own Cinnamon Mints. Cinnamon mints. Need I say more? With the cinnamon fiend in the house there was no way he couldn’t wax poetic about these mints. What I was able to gather through the sucking sounds was these mints were bold in flavor, the cinnamon was very strong and not weak, it got his nose running a little. It’s gross, I know but according to the cinnamon fiend that’s how he knows it good cinnamon flavor. I’ll take his word on it.

Newman’s Own Soy Crisps White Cheddar Flavor. We eat a lot of rice cakes, so we expect a lot of flavor from something that is usually considered tasteless. These are far from tasteless! Surprise, surprise guess which flavor got the most attention?  White Cheddar! . I actually got to taste some this time, and I must say these are very good, and very flavorful. We like snack healthy and when you’re looking for something salty and flavorful soy crisps and presto! They are a very tasty and good for you snack.
