My Review:

Something we're trying to do is to teach our daughter the positives of saving money early in life. We’re hoping if she gets an early start on saving that this lesson will follow her for the rest of her life. When I saw the Savvy Pig (www.msgen.com) I was intrigued. It’s a piggy bank, but it’s so much more. It’s a lesson every time your child puts money into it.

A piggy bank does its job it holds money. And that’s all it does. But the Savvy Pig lets you show your child all the options they have. It’s a slotted pig, one slot for saving, one slot for spending, one slot for donations, and a slot for investing. It’s important to teach children the value of a dollar. It’s only a dollar now but if you put it away and keep adding money to it that dollar will grow. What better way to teach your kids about maybe making a small donation to a charity, we like giving to the ASPCA, and when my daughter scoffed at the idea of donating her money I reminded her about helping the kitties and she seemed more receptive to the donation slot.

This is a piggy bank that promotes saving, investing and being generous to those less fortunate. And there’s that spending slot too but as my daughter has been known to say that’s what daddy’s for!
