Herr's Philosophy (from the bag)
We at Herr's take great pride in bringing you fresh, natural, great-tasting potato chips. Our use of the finest ingredients is a time-honored tradition. Not surprisingly, we think that our chips are the most delicious potato chips you can buy.
What gives our chips their exceptional great taste? It's no secret. It's the way they're made! we take special care to select only the finest potatoes. We cook them in vegetable oil so they turn out crisp and tasty, and then quickly seal them in Herr's special foil-like packaging. Sunlight and moisture are locked out. Freshness is locked in. The result--you get more of the natural potato taste you crave.
We hope you'll try our other Herr's snacks, made with the same dedication to freshness and crispiness. I'm sure you'll enjoy them. In fact, you have my guarantee!

We were lucky enough to be able try a variety of chips.
My review:
We had the pleasure of receiving a box of goodies from Herr's (http://www.herrs.com/,) complete with chips of various flavors and pretzels. Herr's chips and pretzels are a part of life here in Philadelphia, it's something you grow up with, it's what you go for when you're eating a hoagie, they are a part of the fabric of our city. We received the box and my husband's eye's got big when he saw what it was, he popped the box open wishing loudly that he hoped it contained a bag of Salt & Vinegar chips, which it did and he was as happy as a child on Christmas morning when he found the bag of Kettle Chip Salt & Vinegar chips. And tore into it like he hasn't eaten in weeks. Guess what he's getting for Christmas:-)?!Along with his favorite chips were a bag of Jalapeno chips, Salt & Pepper chips, a couple bags of plain chips and 2 bags of pretzels.
For 65 years the Herr family has been making snacks and they know what they're doing! As far as I can remember I don't think I've ever had a bad chip and they have some really good flavors, the ketchup chips are really good, it's like eating a french fry. They're located an hour outside of Philadelphia in Nottingham, PA and give tours of their actual facility, you will learn how chips are made from actual employees. It's worth the drive if you're near by or if you're coming into Philadelphia to visit, you will enjoy it!
